Sorry if this has been posted before, but I can't seem to find the basic rules for multiclassing anywhere so I thought I'd ask.
How do I work out my base saves and BAB if I multiclass?
For example if I start barbarian level 1 and go into fighter level 1 do I add up the bonuses? So I get +4 fort and +2 bab? If I then add a level of Monk do I have 6 fort, 2 reflex, 2 will and still +2 bab?
And what happens if I advance? How do I then work out what my saves and bab are if I take another level in fighter in that situation? As a level 2 fighter has +3 fort +2 bab do I then add that on top of what I already have?? Or does it just get ignored?
Also how does the BAB of your second attack get calculated? I'm a level 6 fighter and multiclass into barbarian is my bab 7/1? or 7/2?
Or if I'm a fifth level fighter and multiclass into barbarian is my bab 6? or is it 6/1?
I'm getting myself really confused, could anybody tell me how it works or link me to the information? Though I can't find anything in the books that tells me.

To quote the http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/character-advancement
"...He adds all of the hit points, base attack bonuses, and saving throw bonuses from a 1st-level wizard on top of those gained from being a 5th-level fighter."
You add them up. So yes being a 1st level fighter (+1 BAB, F +2, R/W +0) and add a level of Barbarian (d12 HD, +1 BAB, F +2, R/W +0) for a total of +2 BAB, F +4, R +0, W +0.
Going up to a F2/Barb1 would increase your BAB by 1 (difference between 1 and 2), and F +1 (difference between 2 and 3). You're adding differences not the total that's listed.
Hope that helps! Of course while you can stack fighter classes for a great BAB (and have no class higher than 1) you can also go the opposite way and add all the weak combat classes on one so you'd be something like 7th or 8th level with a BAB of +0 but your Will and Reflex saves would be through the roof.

All you do is you add the new bonus for that level in the class you take IE lv1 fighter lv1 barbarian lv1 monk Fort 6 Will 2 Ref 2 BAB 2 because you get +2 Fort and +1 BAB from fighter +2 Fort and +1 BAB from barbarian and you get +2 Will +2 Fort +2 Ref and +0 BAB for the monk. now if after that you were to take another lv in monk making you lv1 fighter lv1 barbarian lv2 monk you would have Fort 7 Will 3 Ref 3 BAB 3 because your BAB goes up by 1 and all your saves go up by one. if you were to take a lv of fighter after that then you would add the differences between a lv1 and lv2 fighter making giving you a +1 to BAB and a +1 to Fort so if you were to become a lv2 fighter lv1 barbarian lv2 monk you would have Fort 8 Will 3 Ref 3 BAB 4. All you do is add the bonus to your saves as if you were one lv higher of that class also you get the specials for each class you take of that particular level so if you were a lv1 fighter lv1 barbarian lv 2 monk you would have every special from the corresponding level of that class it starts to make more sense as you use it hope this helps

See page 30 of your Core Rulebook. You add the BAB and saves from each class together, so the barbarian/fighter/monk is spot-on for BAB. If you advance a fighter level, you add up BAB of each class individually: so you'd have +3 BAB, +7 Fort saves (2 from barbarian, 3 fighter, 2 monk).
does this math look right?
class a 0.0.2.0
class b 0.2.0.2
total 0.2.2.2
class a 1.0.3.0
class b 1.3.0.3
total 2.3.3.3
class a 2.1.3.1
class b 2.3.1.3
total 4.4.4.4
class b 2.1.3.1
class b 3.1.4.1
