Animal Companions in Pathfinder

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I guess I posted my original thread in the wrong spot.

Hello all,

I had heard there is either an alternate build, maybe some feats, or maybe it was just a summoner that can do this, for a character to use various oozes and Gelatinous Cubes as animal companions. I have not been able to find any of this info, so I come to you in hopes that what I'm hearing isn't an isolated incident and it actually exists.

Thanks for any help!

Liberty's Edge

I don't know of any class that uses oozes and the like for companions. I think the alchemist can make use of them a bit though, you might start looking there.

The only ooze-companion stuff I know is from 3.5, either using the Slime, Thirst or Ooze domains to rebuke/command oozes, or an Eberron specific PrC that allows one to have a Living Spell companion (only technically an ooze, really...).

Huh, well, I'll keep looking in hopes that this may actually exist.

Basically what I was originally told was that there are 2(ish) feats. The first one allows you to use your Wild Empathy on Oozes, then there was a follow-up feat that then allowed you have an ooze as a companion (there could be more). What intrigued me was that apparently you could have a Gelatinous Cube and it didn't get that level-up/evolution/advancement (or whatever it's called) until level 17.

I'm still hopeful, so we will see what I can find.

No no, there's something at the tip of my tongue about this. Bottled Ooze discovery for one.

Super Genius Games' Advanced Options: Extra Evolutions has an ooze base form for Eidolons.

The Cave druid domain or the Cave Druid archetype would've been the place for them. Unfortunately, neither allow the companions. Although Cave Druid basically turns into one.

YA know you could ask the Gm to refluff something into an ooze. Bite becomes acid or slam or something.

What about something like fast and dirty conversion.

Ooze

Starting Statistics: Size Small; Speed 10 ft., climb 10 ft.; AC +2 natural armor; Attack (1d4 plus + acid); Ability Scores Str 8, Dex 17, Con 12, Int —, Wis 10, Cha 1; Special AttacksAcid 1d4 Special Qualities can't be tripped. Blinded or critted

4th-Level Advancement: Size Medium; Attack Slam (1d6 plus acid); Ability Scores Str +4, Dex –2, Con +2.

Thanks for the help folks! That does help a lot.

I'm in no need to have to have this right now, I was just curious because I might be getting into one soon. This was something that sounded really interesting. Let's see what comes of this.
