Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

First of all this is not a rant , more of a thank you.
I have DM`d Dungeons & Dragons in all formats since 1983.I have spent thousands of pounds on TSR the WOTC products and was blissfully happy running my group of which some core players have stuck with me since the beginning.

All of this changed in 2007-8.The birth of my beautiful daughter and heavier work commitments meant i had to take a break.
Around about summer this year i was able to play again.4th edition was now out so i rushed in buying all the books i could thinking it would be like old times . It was`nt.
They had dumbed down the rules taken most of the rpg elements away and destroyed my favourite FR setting.
A friend suggested i take a look at Pathfinder and i thank my lucky stars i did. My enthausim is renewed with the campaign setting and best of all i get to use my old stuff.
So i big thank you to Paizo and i hope it continues for many years.

Thanks

Let's all ignore the 4E comments and welcome our new friend to the table.

Holiday spirit and all.

I'm so glad you've found the game that works for you!

Cheers for comments . I did`nt mean to bash 4E its just all WOTC seem to do is screw up the game then press the reset button. 5E will be announced next year mark my words.
Off Topic:

Where can i see next years release schedule.

Thanks

Shadow Lodge

I'm not sure if they keep a schedule up on the site, since they do sometimes have schedule slips here and there.

Removed some posts. Please refrain from edition-bashing, we've had quite enough of it.

Edit: Product schedule is here.

Thanks Liz! I didn't know about that.

Given that Paizo is run by the very person whose job it was to analyze why TSR went down the tubes, and given that she's using that very information to run Paizo quite differently, I feel confident saying that I expect Paizo to be around for a long, long time.

Perhaps even long enough to develop those mythic rules I've been so patiently waiting for :)

Silver Crusade

3 people marked this as a favorite.

The trick to this hobby is follow the people, don't follow the game, and right now, Paizo is the home of some of the best people

I`m still trying to take in all the rules etc , but the Glorian world is really impressive.
The party consists of mainly paladins so is there any rulebooks or sourcebooks i should have?

Thanks

Shadow Lodge

Maybe the Faiths of Purity book?

Definitely; that's the one with the paladin codes in it.

That assumes you already have the Core Rulebook, the APG and possibly Ultimate Magic and Ultimate Combat.

The Inner Sea Primer and also the campaign guide aren't bad choices, either.

I didn't know it was against the rules to post your opinions about a product. Let alone I didn't say 4e was bad I just said it wasn't really a roleplaying game. Still love your game paizo and I'm looking forward to the advanced races. Btw burning666 do you plan on starting a new campaign soon?

Yeah probably gonna start in next couple of weeks when i done all my research.
