Nick names for monsters

Sovereign Court

Do you name various creatures and then use their nick names?
My girlfriend is a genius at this, when she thumbs through my bestiaries (skipping any entry with more then 4 legs) My two favorites are:

Redneck dragon for the jabberwock
Midget stripper for the brownie

Popcorn for Halflings. Because that's what they are for giants.

The Exchange

We called one Plant-Bear-Pig. I don't know which monster it was, but If you play Feast of Ravenmoore then you will meet the Plant-Bear-Pig.

So then if a halfing took as a skill craft(popcorn) would that mean he gets laid as a craft check?[/snark]

Silver Crusade

I recently bought an adventure that includes an odd cult that created zombie animals full of flower petals, that explode when they're killed. Picture animal guts and flower petals flying everywhere! I keep thinking of them as "undead pinatas".

I'm looking forward to GMing that adventure and seeing the players' reactions.

Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

"Piece of @#$% sons of @#$%!#$ @$%#stove @$%$% oughta be @$(%@$%@#&%@ with a cheesegrater and @$%$ on what's left dammit" - pugwampis

To be fair though, we've only encountered them three times, so our general attitude towards this particular monster may change.*

*We'll likely have to start making up new expletives, honestly.

This guy has been our "Native American furry gay pride mascot on acid" for years. D&D 3.5 had some seriously awful monster concepts.
