Places to play pathfinder online, maybe society online even

Gamer Connection

I have fallen in love with pathfinder it relly is a great system that I have a lot of fun with, as such I want to play in more games ( 2 just isnt enough). Does any one know of any where to sign up for online games?

Also I am interested in may doing a Pathfidner society play for the first time, are these available online?

I don't know the specs on playing society games online, so I'll let the more educated answer that...

As for playing Pathfinder at all online, there are a few options. The boards here have a whole section dedicated to play by post games (PbP), and I (and many others) can give you a run down on how that works if you're interested. Sometimes you see people recruiting for virtual table top (VTT) games, like MapTools or D20Pro in the same area recruitment for the PbP games happen, but those are pretty rare. The only VTT I'm familiar with is D20Pro, and I know they have a Pathfinder section on their boards in which I've seen recruitment threads, but I don't think it has anywhere the activity that the boards here has.

Other than that I've heard of people using yahoo groups in some form or another, but I've little knowledge on the details.

Where is that area for PbP and any information on it would be great.

Recruitment Go in, look around, see who's looking for people for what game (most are going to be Paizo's various adventure paths, so a reasonable familiarity with them, as well as Paizo's world Golarion is good to have, but far from manditory), and when you see something you like, drop in and post. It's a good idea to keep an eye out throughout the day/week. Some recruitment posts show up and get swarmed quickly, others get burried as a bunch of games open up at the same time.

As for PbP gaming...once you get into a game the GM will get you a link to the discussion thread and game thread. The discussion thread is for out of character talk, this is often where you ask the GM rule questions ("how do you feel about my character taking <insert oft debated feat/spell/class>?") or sometimes this is where GMs want you to handle shopping (some people like to roleplay every time you go out and buy anything, some people don't want to ever worry about it, and most fall somewhere in the middle). The game thread is where the actual game takes place. You'll post there in character and see the other characters/GM posts.

Things run slow in PbP format, though some games are slower/faster than others. Most GMs want people to be able to get online and post at least once a day, though I've found this often doesn't hold as things progress, but at the same time there will be days where everyone in the game has nothing better to do, so they're all online at the same time, and twenty posts get sent up throughout the day...

If you haven't noticed it yet, below the box where you type your message board post there is a thing that says "How to format your text" and a box that says "show". Clicking that will open up what's called a spoiler, and tell you how to use different posting features, like bolding text or rolling dice...1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Any questions? Need to me to elaborate on anything I already said?
