I'm playing a nature oracle, and while looking for feats for my bonded mount (6 Int), I stumbled across this teamwork feat:
Escape Route (Teamwork)
You have trained to watch your allies’ backs, covering them as they make tactical withdraws.Prerequisite: none
Benefit: An ally who also has this feat provokes no attacks of opportunity for moving through squares adjacent to you or within your space.
Now as written, it appears that if I have this feat, and my mount has this feat, then together we will never provoke AoO from movement whilst I am riding him. But that seems pretty cheesy to me.
So what is your opinion on the feat, and your interpretation of how it interacts with mounts?

I can understand the initial complaint of Cheesy... but don't think it actually is.
The mount is moving and during that movement the rider is defending them both... not much worse than any of the spells that help with such things already or having the mount roll and acrobatics check to avoid provoking.
Honestly at least now you are paying something for the ability to not provoke while moving (a feat in this case -- though I guess you could say the ranks in acrobatics would be a cost too).

I would say that, even though it has int 6, it can't take any feat it likes, as that applies only to the skills section of the animal companion. Feats must still be taken from the usual selection.
You can say it but you'll be wrong:
Animal companions with an Intelligence of 3 or higher can select any feat they are physically capable of using. GMs might expand this list to include feats from other sources.

You must be misremembering something.

That's quite clear.
