Patron deity alignments

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

I'm sure this question has been answered before, but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything. Do characters who do not cast divine spells still have to follow alignment restrictions when choosing a patron deity?
I.e. Can a LN Monk choose a CE god as their patron deity? (assuming they will never take levels in a divine spell casting class)

It would be weird to say the least, but yes. Non-divine casters are free to pick whichever patron deity they wish.

Weird but optimal in this case. Making a Dwarven maneuver master monk who was mostly raised by a troupe of chimps with an Awakened alpha. I want to give him the Serpentine Squeeze trait, but we're not allowed to be Evil. He will worship Ydersius in the sense of fearing her greatly and thinking that if he venerates her enough she will keep her scaly minions away from him. The same way a NG sailor might make offerings to Dagon to keep him safe at sea or something.

A character who is not a cleric or inquisitor can worship any deity (edit: subject to what the GM finds reasonable if it has a mechanical implication, as in your case).
