So the concept behind the eidolon is it is an outsider dreamed up in the mind of the summoner. It's appearance is limited only by the summoner's imagination (and it's evo points) but what is the eidolon made of?
If I make an eidolon that looks like an iron construct is it more susceptible to Heat Metal? Do eidolons modeled after treants burn brighter when caught in that ignited field of Grease? If my eidolon resembles the last of Qin Shi Huang's Terra Cotta Warriors is a kid with a slingshot gonna shatter my dreams?
Inquiring minds want to know, what are eidolons made of?
there is some evolution to mace your eidolon more one thing or the other
(ie. undead ,plant ,and other templates)
(a lot more if you look in to 3rd party) but no other wise
They're made of thoughts and dreams. So if it burns or is affected by heat metal its because you think it should be.

Actually it is made from the pact with an outsider and appears how the summoner wants him to look. That being the case, even though it looks like its made of iron, it is no different (mechanically) than an Eidolon who looks like a big human and has the same evolutions. There are no benefits or drawbacks for how your eidolon looks (unless your GM wants it that way).
