Let's be honest here, we all know this is going to happen in the back alleys of RP servers. Happens in WoW, happens in Guild Wars, happens in EVE Online, happens everywhere.
Why not just make a server or two for it? (Or zones, if you're going that route.) You don't have to name them "SEX DUNGEON" or anything - something classy and understated, maybe, like how "massage parlour"s work.
Plus, it would be great for all the Shelyn/Lamashtu-worshipping roleplayers.

As weird as it sounds to think about, Ettin does have a point that this kind of thing is bound to happen. Trying to hyper filter it would probably be a bigger pain in the ass than it's worth, so providing something specific for those players might be a good thing.
(I'm suddenly reminded of arguments that legal prostitution is better than illegal because with things being official there is a lot that can be done to protect those involved from the dangers they face in the shadows.)

Good idea, you might as well add Calystria worshippers

I would support a 'MATURE 18+' server for sure, if only to say that it's strictly for adult audiences. Personally, I probably wouldn't care to play on such a server as I believe a persons age doesn't have all that much to do with their maturity, but I know there are a lot of people who do care about this stuff - entire 'mature' guilds exist who don't care for younger members.
As for the adult themes players choose to get themselves involved in... I'm not judging but it's not for me.

I think it's a good idea. I would rather not have that sort of thing in my gaming, as I find it to be rather distasteful, and I'm sure many feel the same way. A separate server where they can do that stuff would allow those of us who dislike this sort of thing to enjoy the game without having to watch a bunch of cybersex.

Seriously, there is no way this is happening.
The reason this (or the 'location' chats in PC homes that Mark mentioned) is important is because this kind of stuff happens, whether we want it or not. It's better to isolate it where we don't have to see it than try (and fail more often than not) to filter it.
Plus, when you have strict filters you run into problems like getting filtered when you say you're going to cock your crossbow or want to sell a fine roasting cock at the market.
EDIT: huh, looks like the Paizo board's filter lost that word. Good, in a fantasy topic it comes up more often than you might think.

I'm almost certain that a 18+ server dedicated for this would hurt more than it could ever help. To me it makes the game seem less mature and more perverse. I think that the best solution is to keep the game such that I wouldn't feel like I would have to hide it from my teenage brothers. If someone wishes to proclaim publicly that their "half-orc is assaulting the gates with his 'Grond'." I would rather them be directed out of the game.

On-topic, I suspect the odds of this are close to nil. Doing so would require a branding of the product with Mature/Adult rating tags and i suspect they will seek to be lower then that if possible for a larger audience.
This. And besides, you can always leave your ERP into private message levels, like most smart online RPers...

Won't happen for a very good reason. Even putting one such server will shoot the rating of the game to ADULT or above, effectively closing out a major part of potential purchases.

Part of me wants to be a founding member of the Pitax Streakers' Guild. But I'm sure those "artists" already have several.
However, I'm totally on board with "adults only" servers/areas. Not necessarily to undress the elven priestess and then see just how flexible the game system is (also the priestess).
I just want to be able to play my characters without lots of ********* replacing what I typed. I'm not saying all my characters swear, but some do, and it would be nice if I could play such a character without having to pussyfoot around some cockeyed restrictions on what I say.
I mean, this isn't Middle Earth.

This game will largely sell to an American audience. Right now we(the US)are a country where you can show blood, gore, and dead bodies on CSI, but one nipple slip during a Super Bowl and half the country goes crazy.
Best to let those who want to participate keep it in the back alleys. To have the company officially endorse suggestive sexuality in the current nation's climate will kill the game before it's launched.

Pathfinder is not and will not be a "mature audiences only" property, and I'm not willing to entertain steps in that direction. Sorry.
Thank goodness for that. Also making LOTS of different servers dilutes your initial player base, and at first you need them ALL working together to buzz your game.

Because verisimilitude is nigh-invulnerable in one's game of pretend until icky emotions and intimacy take a greater role than mutilation, evisceration, and grievous bodily harm.
It's not my game, but were it so, I'd allow for it. There's a market. It need not be the most open, acknowledge, or remotely primary market, but if one's IP is so vulnerable that it cannot handle the application of life-affirming happenstances, then there's something fundamentally wrong at the conceptual level well before one's herds of migrant murder hobos venture forth from their homes in the first place.
...unless you're playing myconids, or some other form of asexually reproducing non-dimorphic entity. Which, at that point, I don't know what to tell you.

Not that I do not disagree with a Mature rated server(s), it will never happen because there is no way to effectively control the under 18 crowd and the ensuing lawsuits that would follow because the parents are not watching little Johny's Internet usage.

Agreed, the best option would be just to make rules to limit potentially offensive conversation to private channels/housing.

Age of Conan is a Mature-rated MMO (the only one). So it's not going to never happen because of minors and their overworked parents who don't monitor them. It won't happen because Mr Wertz and, presumably, other people at Paizo don't want to see Pathfinder used in this manner officially--there will almost assuredly still be "Mature"-rated interactions going on between players, but there's a reason that all MMOs have a tag on their box that says that gaming experiences may change while online.
