So, this recently came up, and im wondering. Does the necklace of adaptation, which surrounds your body in a bubble of fresh air, beat scent?
I honestly would love to help you, but I have no idea about this. It depends on how it functions. Does it constantly create fresh air that pushes out? Thus making a shell? If so, no, scent will get you.
Does it lock all vapors out entirely? Thus creating a static shell which no smells can exit or enter? Does that mean your sense of smell is now non-existant?
Seems like a case for GM.

I would look at like this: the necklace creates a shell of constantly refreshing air. This allows the wearer to breath. Now, I think, that the 'old' air within the shell is constantly being moved outwards, thus the necklace would offer no protection against other creatures detecting or tracking you through the use of scent. Because the item does not include any thing that would indicate otherwise.
As you, the wearer, using scent. I would say no. Just as the constantly refreshing shell of air keeps water out and away from you, so would it drive scents away.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
