Summoner has 8 strength and when fused with his Eidolon, 14 strength. Can the Summoner take power attack?

RAW, no.

Liberty's Edge

By RAW, yes.

The summoner has to remain awake for > 24 hours, after that his bonus from his eidolon becomes "permenant" and thus he becomes elligible for taking feats.

The feat will be useless while he's not merged with his eidolon (as in, he doesn't qualify for it) but when he does merge, it will come back on line, no need for a 24 hour warm up.

I agree with ShadowcatX - persistent bonus from the eidolon, but watch out for punishment from the GM for a lack of strength - get a Handy Haversack.

RAW = Yes.

Synthesist can maintain for > 24 hours, thus it counts as permanent.
