Poison immunity vs. Drugs

Rules Questions

Some creatures are immune to poisons. Drugs are considered poison (at least IRL). Drugs have some negative effects, but also some "positive" ones (but they're a byproduct of the bad ones). A poison immune creature will obviously not suffer from the negative effects, BUT will it also not feel the "positive" effects?
In other words: Can such a creature get high (without bad side effects)?

My vote is on No

Being immune to a substance equals not being affected by it. Getting high means I am being affected. So, no dice.

I usually use the Wolverine rule. Wolverine (the comic character) can't get drunk. Poisons and drugs have very little if any affect on him and if they do, he usually shrugs it off within moments.

So, poison, alcohol, drugs, caffeine, drinking bleach, huffing gasoline, etc, would have 0 effect if you are immune to poison.

Scarab Sages

Definitely not.

The good side effects of drugs are completely dependent upon being affected by the drug.

IRL, if someone has a high tolerance for a drug, they have to take more in order to have that same good feeling. extrapolating means if they are immune to the drug, they cannot get that good feeling.

Yeah, I was afraid that that's the way it is. My incubus bard NPC won't won't be participating in his followers drug parties. Any suggestions on what he could do instead? Raping stoned mortals (who desire him regardless of the drugs) isn't really his shtick. And although he is Chaotic Evil, he doesn't want to hurt them. They're his fans and besides he's trying to keep a low profile (no senseless murdering, raping, stealing, etc.).

Steven Tyler's quoted as saying, "Sex, drugs, and rock and roll: stop doing drugs, and you have more time for the other two." I guess with no drugs, and apparently no sex, you're left a lot of room for rock and roll.
