Do tiny creatures still get weapon finesse as a bonus feat?

I could have sworn in 3.5 there was a rule about getting weapon finesse as a bonus feat for tiny and smaller sized things.

Does this still exist?

Am i wrong and it never existed?

It never existed. The 3.5 designers simply always listed weapon finesse as one of the bought feats for tiny creatures in order to improve their melee from hopeless to pathetic.

ah. I swore there was a rule about it.

Maybe I'm thinking of the CM(B?D?) bonus they get now (unless I imagined that)

No, although familiars get to use Dex for attacks instead of Str.

It may not have existed in black and white, but it was a de facto rule that Tiny creatures with +0 BAB got Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat.

Hmm... interesting...

The section about a wizard's familiar states clearly

Attacks: Use the master's base attack bonus, as calculated from all his classes. Use the familiar's Dexterity or Strength modifier, whichever is greater, to calculate the familiar's melee attack bonus with natural weapons.

which would be the equivalent to Weapon Finesse, sans the Feat Tax. Maybe the use of Dex instead of Str if tiny or smaller spilled from here?
