Whats a cool Half-elf / Elf god for my PFS character to worship despite being a slave to Chelish Masters?
I'm creating my first PFS character and am going with a half-elf fighter in the cheliax faction - i love the idea/flavour of the Ancestral Arms racial trait and equipping him with a Elven Curve Blade. Mechanically I want to go down the heavy crit tree... but i want to support all mechanical choices with cool flavourful back story.
so choosing traits i like the +1 will from indomitable faith... all this leads to my idea that he was a slave in Cheliax - yet always maintained his faith in some elven god (should be lawful) because although he hated the loss of freedom he respects order (probably Stockholm Syndrome of sorts) - and his ultimate dream is to become a Hellknight.
What god make sense for him to have followed his whole life as a slave... that led him to freeing himself (how?) and seeking out his homeland, where he took (by force?) his fathers Ancestral Elven Curve Blade as his right... and found that although he'd left Cheliax. Cheliax hadnt left him. So he joins the pathfinder society as a chelish agent to fullfil his dreams of becoming a Hellknight and smiting chaos where'er he finds it.

In actuality, it is not true Asmodeus is the only Chelaxian god. Iomedae, as a former Chelaxian herself, has a fair foothold in the region, and followers are respected (or at least tolerated) by the government because they are willing to work within the laws. They generally spend their time trying to make things bearable for the lower class, so it would make sense that most slaves would pay tribute to her, if not outright worship her.

The OP's story just fired my imagination.
Definitely Asmodeus.
Your character started at the lowest rung of the social ladder, but he KNOWS in his heart of heart that he has a destiny and that the Lord of Hell takes a special interest in his fate. He knows that he is destined to climb the ladder to the utmost top.
He has kept this belief to himself as it would not make him popular with either the other slaves or the slave-keepers.
Then one evening, he was kidnapped by his father and some other do-gooders out to "liberate" slaves and foment trouble, even going so far as imagining bombing the local shelter of the Asmodeus' church to denounce its devious ways of enticing people to the worship of "Evil".
The PC was just disgusted with all the crimes, chaos and terror that those so-called "heroes" were intent on unleashing on an unsuspecting populace. Not to mention the fact that they were robbing him of his destiny in the name of an illusory freedom which amounted to an early grave after a short life hunted by the Hellknights. Later on, he quietly left their refuge and found a patrol of the watch. He showed them where the rebels where and accompanied the strike force whose Hellknight commander wanted to make sure he was near in case something went wrong.
After crushing the rebels, the commander took the Elven Curved Blade from his father's lifeless hands and gave it to him as a reward for his faithful service to the great nation of Cheliax, signifying at the same time that he was freed from any previous servitude if he agreed to join the forces of the State. The PC was beyond ecstasy that his vision of destiny and his faith in Asmodeus' designs were so vindicated.
Further interviews with both Hellknights and Inquisitors allowed the Powers that Be to ascertain the earnestness of the PC and the purity of his faith. He has been sent to Absalom to join the Pathfinders Society and help further the goals of its Chelish faction, to which he takes with gusto.
Because he knows beyond certainty that the Lord of Hell has something special in store for him.

That is on the money. I love it. Its dark and deadly and focussed. I've just added Indomitable Faith as one of my traits - mechanically and tastefully sound. Thanks for awesome tuning Black Raven. I'm set.
