I presume not, given there may be posts, but is it possible to hide an alias and designate it "inactive"?

I've been wondering this myself. I can't find out how to do it on my own. Paizo has a great game but not a very user friendly forum interface.

I'd like to delete one of my aliases and combine the posts under my main account but...

Aliases that have you have posted with cannot be deleted. There may or may not, in the future, be a way to designate aliases as "inactive" so they don't appear in your drop-down list.
