Hi all. I've been working with the awesome folks over at Warhorn. They have now updated all classes for Pathfinder so when people sign up for an event that utilizes Warhorn, they can choose the class of their character instead of the old system of tank, striker, etc... Remember to donate when you use their service if possible so they can continue upgrading this awesome coordinator tool. Enjoy!

That's actually one of the problems I had with Warhorn. Good to hear it's PFS friendly now. I wonder if they still have the generic roles though, as some of my characters don't fit into a single class role very well.

It's the fresh login every time, for every event. I know there are reasons for it, but I still despise that aspect of Warhorn's design. Combined with the 4E centricism of its reservation system, all of which has lead us to not use it here for local PFS.
We've opted instead for our own reservation list off of our own webpage; using a widget for Wordpress. It's not perfect, but I mostly prefer it.
That said, I know that there are a LOT of GMs elsewhere who do use Warhorm to manage bookings for their events and this change will be well appreciated by all of those GMs and players -- so that's A Good Thing™.

If you use it for recurring game days, there is only one login neccesary. It makes sense that big events will have their own site but putting all available events in the area into one recurring Warhorn site is a huge help.
It also gives players a better idea of how many different games are happening at the same time.And about the ease of use - as I just started using it, not even two months ago, I just made a simple little tutorial for it wherever I advertised PFS and looks like that worked well enough.

Ths is how we have used it up to now - and the character classes for PF are all in there now, so it's not as 4E-centric. However, now that we're adding different venues, we need different sites for each venue. I just spoke to Brian Mosely about this and he said they'd love to add multi-venue support but it's not a quick fix. I suppose one *could* re-jig the scenario description to include the venue as well, but that means inputting all the scenario data multiple times.
I *highly* recommend Warhorn, especially if you're not currently advance-scheduling your games. Free, simple, and lets you start scheduling games (and GMs!) well in advance.

You can use the same login for every event, although you must reregister if it's not a continuing game day. At least that minimizes the number of screen names and passwords you need to remember.

As a note, I used to use Warhorn, but it's a real pain in the behind to maintain. I switched to Meetup, which I as a coordinator prefer quite a bit more to Warhorn. I have a lot more tools available at my disposal, and it's a one-stop-shop for registration, boards, and other fancy stuff.
To each their own though - I can see why some people would like Warhorn.

I sound the horn of rejoicing! I use warhorn for cons and game days, Meetup is a pain for me, and its not RPG centric. I have hunted for better, but warhorn still is the beter mousetrap (or playertrap)

We use MeetUp.com here in the TC metro area.
In all the years of LG-on-warhorn, I never once saw that it made any bit of difference inputting character type, because once everyone was assembled, half the people changed their minds which PC they wanted to play anyway.

I use Warhorn for the Boston area. Mostly because I am used to it and it asks for a donation not a required fee as Meetup does.
I'd say about 5% of the local community detests it or avoids it if at all possible. But it allows me to manage player sign-ups for all the PFS events that aren't covered by someone else in about a 50 mile radius of Boston.
Yes, it does require a few work-arounds to have multiple sites on one warhorn page, but it gets the job done. I put a 3-letter site code at the beginning of every scenario. This allows players to see where events are scheduled on the monthly calendar. They can click on the day to see which scenarios are available. This means more work behind the curtain - each scenario must be added for each site, but really this is less work compared to maintaining a separate Warhorn page for each site. And players only need to go to one website to see all the games running in the area.
Warhorn makes my job easier even with the 5% or so who never sign up and just show up at the games or only email me to register (at least those I can add in myself). It has helped to make sure we're not scheduling 7 player tables and can point out events that may not run.
The PC types are nice and for retail events the line up is usually a lot more stable than at conventions.
