Using Psionics Unleashed powers that is. Has anyone given this a go yet? Do things work out well enough simply using appropriately leveled powers in place of spells for that ability? Did it require any fiddling beyond that?
Psionic-Like-Abilities should technically be priced about the same as Spell-Like-Abilities, because Psionics are spell-like and abilities.. However, I haven't played with them in a long time.

The thing to remember about psi-like powers, is that augmenting is often built in. I don't have my Dreamscarred stuff handy (wrong disk at work) but, for example, if you have energy ray, it will either be 1d6 for life, or you include some scaling. A 20d6 + 20 fire ray 1/day at 20th level might seem a bit much.
I think the Maenands/Dromites scale at 1/2 character level, but again IDHtPDFIFOM.

The Spell-Like ability trait says that the Caster Level is equal to the character level so I would say it should be the same for a Psionic ability.
Except that Psionics don't scale evenly, comparing Manifester level to Caster level.
For example, let's say there's a race of near humans who once a day can fire a magic missile from a bow. At 9th level he fires 5 missiles out to 190 feet.
If you just ramp up the manifester level for energy ray you get, at 9th level, a 1d6 bolt at 45 feet.
If you scale the power, (which is the default) you're throwing a 1d6/level ray 1/day. So our 9th level character is thowing a 9d6 ray 45 feet. But at 20th level, the magic missile tosser does 9d4+9, the psion is thowing 20d6.
So usually that's why half character level is considered fair. It keeps it even with most 1st - 3rd level spells.
