Hello
I've been looking into getting Pathfinder Society games running in Columbus, as ever since the Armoury closed down I haven't been able to really play much in the city, and I'm looking to see how much interest there would be in such games. I would be willing to run them, and I'm not sure who else is running games in the area at this time.
I've been offering to run games at The Guardtower on Trabue Rd on Wednesday nights, 7PM, but could most likely run games at other times and at other places as well.
If there is any interest, I can be reached at BTLOTM@gmail.com, as well as on here.

Well now we've got a game at 6 PM at the Guardtower on Wednesday nights, and we will be starting a game at Ravenstone Games on Saturday's at noon. I'm putting up games on our warhorn site (http://warhorn.net/columbus-pfs/) though actually getting all my players to register has been a pain.
I'll try to remember to swing by saturday.

Ravenstone! we live less than ten miles from there! I went to Woodward Park Middle School like 1 mile down Karl road (this was 15 years ago, mind, but still).
By "Saturdays", do you mean "starting this Saturday, November 5th 2011"? Because we are all for that.
We both play straight pathfinder (no 3.5 or house rules) and we've got all the hardback books plus most of the softback ones and adventure paths (as you probably can tell by my tags).
Neither of us have any familiarity/experience with Pathfinder Society - what do we need to know before showing up?

I appreciate it Nick. I'm trying to get things more organized in the city, but just knowing all the people running is a giant step in the right direction, if nothing else it helps me let my players know what's going on elsewhere.
Bob, yes, we'll be starting this Saturday at noon. We'll be running the First Steps series, which is great for introducing players to Society and I'm pretty sure the entire table will be new people. I'd appreciate if you and your brother (Or whoever you might be bringing) could register and sign up for the game on our Warhorn site. Its helpful for me, as I live 30-45 minutes out of the city (And I think an hour out from Ravenstone), as it lets me know if we'll have enough people for a table, because if we won't, I usually don't want to drive all the way out there.
As for what you'd need to know before showing up, registering for Pathfinder society would be a big plus, if you both have numbers before you get there, it'd make things easier (As opposed to the many times I've had to try to register people at a store and then the internet doesn't work or the site is being slow, for example) Downloading the Pathfinder Society player's guide (Its a free download here on Paizo's site) would be a good read, as well as having the rules on character creation in it. You get two traits, though you can leave one open to take a faction trait later on, after you choose your faction at the end of First Steps.
We have a rogue and a cleric, though I'm not sure what types of rogue/cleric they are, in case that would influence your decisions on what to make (Not that it should!)
I'll also have a few pregens handy just in case.
If you have any questions, go ahead and ask.

Nice to see some activity in Columbus. Didn't even know that the Armory went under. Sorry to hear that. Been around for 20+ years.
Still have any room on Saturdays? Might be hard right now getting away every week until the Bucks stop playing, but guess willing to listen on my phone while playing for a couple of weeks.

The Saturday games are pretty full currently, since we've only got one DM, I actually had to turn two players away last week (Though they were also the store employees) I'm thinking I might set up other games if I keep getting the demand, or throwing the schedules to biweekly if I have to. I'm running the one on Wednesday which still has space, and someone contacted me before about playing on Monday evenings, but I'm still waiting on word back about that.
Honestly, what we really need is DMs. Because the one problem I've found with the warhorn system is not everyone bothers to register.
Also: I have had to miss too much football this season

I'd offer, but I am already running my own campaign with some friends and really wanted to play some for once. Probably been 5 years since I have been a PC other than conventions.
I'll show up on Saturday and see what happens if that is okay?

You realize, of course, that certain players who live less than a ten minute drive away might be interested in playing in both events back to back? :p
Also, the only reason I haven't signed up for the wednesday game is you are on "starter module part 3", and I've only played through part 1.
Well yeah. I'll probably end up running the same thing, to encourage more people to play. It all depends on demand. Given my current schedule, I'm considering just running the same things at each store. It all depends on how many people I expect to travel. But with the possibility of running 4 games a week becoming a serious consideration, it might happen. I'm running alot of first steps right now because all the players are new.

I'm bringing a copy of first steps pt I. If we have an over abundance of new players I'll doft my player hat and run it, so we don't turn anyone away.
I've got a second game I'm going to start running at 5 to 9 that night, it'll just be the same schedule as the games I'm going to run at Guard tower, but it'll free up two of the slots from the afternoon game for the evening game.

I wish I could, but it had to be pushed back because two of the players have to work early the next day.

i understand, if i get done early i might stop in if there is room for me, the gaurdtower is just down the road for me so if there is no room its no big deal.

I myself am looking to maybe get into this game. I live like 3 miles from Ravenstone. I might stop by this Saturday and watch a little to see how it is. I havent played games like this in a long time and would love to get back into them.
Right now I'm Schroedninger's player (I may or may not be there) so you may have a seat. Grab an iconic and dive on in if you can.
(Or if we have enough and I'm there, I can run first steps pt 1)

Well, we should have enough space for you, given what I'm currently looking at on the warhorn website in the way of sign ups, we've got the two games going, and both have space, so if you'd like to come down, come on down! I'll have pregens of every class there in case you need a character, or go ahead and make your own.

As an added note, I'm going to be shifting the Guardtower games after November 23rd to 7PM start times. I'm going to update the website soon.
thanks for the website, and that start time will work great for my army training

Hey, everyone, this is Matt (Orc Fighter) checking in. Missed you all last week, but I had too much honey-do's around the house.
Is anyone still interested in another weekend or weeknight game? I'm about ready to jump in and run one, just as soon as I can get a good time for everyone. I can definitely do a 2nd Sat. afternoon table, if we have the space at Ravenstone.

So I haven't read the entire post here but I'm looking to start up a Pathfinder game in Columbus, probably at my place or my friend who is interested or if you know of a place that works too. I can run a game as well in a homebrewed world I have. If anyone's interested feel free to email me at acaiberriesareevil@gmail.com

I should be good for the future. The problem is also that we haven't had the amount of signups for the games. If I lived ten minutes away, it wouldn't be an issue, but I'm not driving up with only two people signed up. Which is why I stress people signing up, and the people I suspect who are reading this are usually the ones that sign up.
