Quick Player question on behalf of DM (No spoilers please)

Curse of the Crimson Throne

Hi,

We have just finished the first AP nicely converted to PF Rules.

Our group was wondering if anyone else has found the loot to be lacking.

We have tallied up all treasure and puts our total wealth somewhere around 2000gp short for 4th level. (using old 3.5 wealth by level)

We did miss a little bit of treasure, however, the amount still seems low.

Did we miss something? Or is this path meant to be low treasure?

Great AP so far, but I am starting to regret spending my GPs on gold-plating my armor..(Abadar Rocks!)

The Exchange

I don't have my copies of Crimson Throne handy, but if I remember rightly the second part is still a little $-light (but one of my favorite PF adventures.) Don't worry, a number of very nice magic items start dropping later on - particularly a certain quest item in Pt. 5.

How many players? I am DMing a group of three and we are 3/4 through chapter II, and I would judge them light on the PC wealth table as well. I have not added any treasure at this point, to balance out the extra players. They also have made some unwise money choices but that is a different story. This may be a design feature. In urban adventures parties have a lot of support available to them not normally found in dungeon crawls and wilderness treks.

Liberty's Edge

You are doing it right. The first two books are light on the loot, but by book 4 that gets turned around. Honestly if you didn't know how much you were supposed to have, would it matter?

Liberty's Edge

My group just finished the first book as well. My players haven't mentioned it or complained, but I noticed that they were a little light on loot. We are fourth level. There are no magical weapons in the party except for some +1 arrows. For magical armor, we just have +1 studded leather, which unfortunately, no one in the party is going to wear.

Anyway, I have looked a few books ahead and I think the wealth situation is eventually resolved. Book 2 is heavy on the role-playing and I don't think the PC's will miss the loot too much, until the final push at least.
