Sorry for the noob question, but under this rule the Samurai can stack any level he possesses for the purpose of meeting the prereq for feats. So, does that mean I must multi-class in Fighter to use the Fighter only feats?

no it just means your samurai level = fighter level for feats where you need a fighter level to qualify for, so long as they relate to your chosen weapon e.g. greater weapon specialization

for example at Samurai level 4 you could choose weapon specialization with a feat as you meet the fighter 4 requirement.

edit: With a brief look through the playtest forum, I see various people said they're "certain" it works a particular way, but so far have found no basis for this certainty and the wording hasn't changed at publication. FAQ'd
