Homebrew Campaign Recruitment

Gamer Connection

Hello forum goers and such. I am interested in running a campaign set in my own homebrew world for folks looking for PbP to play in. I feel like I'm not familiar enough with the Inner Sea/Golarion to be comfortable there, but in my own lands I can put my best foot forward. So here are some things you should probably know to gauge your own interest:

-Point Buy will be 25 points. I generally preferred rolled stats gauged a little higher, and also I'd like to be less afraid to pull punches in combats I run.
-Campaign starts at 3rd Level
-All Races and Classes are Available (all of them)
-Max Gold for Starting Equipment, and one magic item that can be up to the value of a +1 Magic Weapon. That is, you can have a +1 weapon, or something lesser in value, but you can not 'split' the amount.

I kind of have a Wiki here

It has the overview I wrote up for the campaign. Characters can be from anywhere in the world, but past Endaerinn requires extensive questioning and such, so. I also have my own pantheon, save for the establish gods of a particular race- Corellon, Moradin, Gruumsh, etc.

Anyway, if there's questions or interest ask/post away!

I can't help but notice two things.. ;)

1. you aren't getting replies even though usually a lot of people want to play in a pbp.

2. You have like 3 posts (total), (makes people wary of you running a pbp game).

Not trying to be offensive.

Why not play in a pbp or two and then look at running one?

Because getting into the pbp's around here can be hard due to the stiff competition, and the fact that while I like Pathfinder, I'm not that big of a fan of its setting, and thus have a hard time finding the desire to learn more.

So I'm trying to run something instead. No harm in trying!

Well, I would like to submit an Elf rogue.

Originally from Quenselas, he left his native land, after reaching adulthood, for the port city of Brin. Now he lives among the ships offering his services to the captains who need deck hands and traders who could benefit from a silver tongue.

speaking of getting into PBP. Id be interested in playing your campaign. You still recruiting?

Sure am! Recruitment may be slow going given my relatively newby status on the boards, but it's only been a day! Far too early to give up!

Two suggestions for you to help promote your campaign.

1. Post it under the newly created "Recruitment" forum: hhttp://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/community/campaigns/recruitment

2. Provide details on how you are going to run it here, and/or whether you have any PBP experience. The experience part is important because if you have no PBP experience then your campaign will have a greater chance of failing. Use your wiki to post how the campaign will be played as PBP. Include such things as: Will you be posting combat maps? How will you be handling initiative... will you be rolling everyone's or will you let everyone roll their own (there-by delaying the start of combat by at least 1 day)? Will you be lumping people's initiave rolls into groups, or will you be strictly be following the descending order of their rolls? I could go on and on, but you need to know how volatile PBP's are (if you don't already know). If not well thought through and its implementation detailed, the campaign will almost always fail... and that will just have been a waste of your time and your player's time.

Hopefully this will be of some help to you. I have greatly enjoyed the PBP's I am involved in, and I certainly like to encourage aspiring PBP GM's to run more of them.

I too am a boards newbie but would love to be a part of your game if an opening is still to be had. Im thinking perhaps a Druid?

count me in then. Ill post concept build later.

Favorite ideas are a bat shaman druid, or a master of many styles/empty hand monk. Don't want to step on others toes though.
Campaign Setting to read!!!

Shadow Lodge

Well I found this by accident and am quite lucky.

I for sometime have wanted to play a merfolk cavalier and your campaign looks like just the place.

So I am putting in my interest and will have some stats and background up in the next day or so.

please invite me to the campaign thread you have at OP as until you do there are things there I am not allowed to read. Username: Lostgamer

Lantern Lodge

Here is a little of the crunch for my merfolk.

I have brainstormed a little background but some of it might need DM approval. Once I get it type up will let you know to re-check.

so this is an ocean themed campaign, awesome! But it means im gonna be a bit delayed in character building. Looking foreward to this!

Hey, folks. Sorry, been swamped with work/sleep for the past few days, and since things were moving slow checking the thread hasn't been the highest priority. As an FYI, I am still recruiting, but I'm reposting this thread over in recruitment, like I should have done. New to the boards, and I must have just skimmed right over that thread. So, if you're interested, just post up over there as well.

Although, I might as well add in an addendum over here- the initial part of the campaign does take place on land. There is a hook after the initial run that can take the campaign underwater, but characters should be able to survive on land. We can work things out as needed. Anyhow, just look for the thread in recruitment, as I will probably stop checking this version of it.

And thanks to those that offered advice! ;)

Well, until that thread is up....

Im actualy looking at making a elven Pearl diver using the Internal Alchemist's Breath ability.

Current Build status:

Base Atk +1; CMB +3; CMD 15
Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Combat Expertise, Improved Feint, Improved Initiative, Dragon Style, Brew Potion
Skills: Appraise +7, Acrobatics +9, Bluff +8, Craft(Alchemy) +7, Disable Device +6, Knowledge(Arcana) +7, Knowledge (nature) +7, Knowledge (religion) +7, Perception +7, Profession(sailor) +5, Sense Motive +5, Spellcraft +7, Stealth +6, Swim +13, Use Magic Device +5 Racial +2 Perception, +4 Swim;

Combat Gear (105g), Handy Haversack or +1 Trident

Formula Book:

As you can see, the build is complicated, MAD as hell, and Not all that focused on any combat niche. I'm trying to decide how to allocate my low stats, and if I want to keep the monk level. any thoughts?
