Witch competitive with Wizards as GODs / Supporters?

Advice

I read a lot of Witch related things the recent days but I haven'T ever played one myself.

Besides the Familiar vulnerability, is the witch a competitive GOD/Supporter?

They miss out a few very good support/control spells, but get cures and hexes in return. And you will most likely need the Agility or Time Patron to get your Haste spell but could probably do with the Ancient Patron to get the Blessing of Fervor...
Plus they miss out animate dead (unless you take a special Patron... which you most likely won') which got rather good now with the blooded Skeletons which you can use as auto repairing mooks/mounts or just to control enemies...

Liberty's Edge

I believe so. Of course, I haven't always believed that. There was a thread about this a while back and it was discussed as rather or not wizards deserved a tier of their own, I was on the side that said they did. Then I drew up a 20th level witch. The witch had enough good spells at each level that choosing godlike spells was rarely, if ever, a problem.

That said, the wizard does have several advantages. His spell list is somewhat superior. More importantly, he gets an extra spell per day (as a specialist) than the wizard. Hexes help offset this some what, but there's no hex that's equal to the power of casting wish an extra time per day.

Of course, the witch gets a few advantages of her own, leveling up hexes are mighty and can take the place of many castings per day. (The fly hex for example, handles flight wonderfully and rules the sky through 9th level.) Also, her spell list, while not holding all the most powerful spells, contains many strong spells and has a diversity to it, ie. healing magic, that the wizard's spell list can be hard pressed to compete with.

So over all, I would say yes, the witch is competitive at playing God, though I don't think they're necessarily better.
