Abundant Step Replacement (Martial Artist Archetype, Monk)

From Ultimate Combat the Martial Artist archetype removes your access to a ki pool however the Abundant Step ability remains with a requirement of a ki point. Can anyone recommend a new ability to replace Abundant Step that maintains the flavor of the archetype? I'd like to see multiple options and present them to my GM.

Improved Exploit Weakness (Ex)
At 12th level, the martial artist's ability to exploit his  enemies weaknesses improves. The effects of Exploit Weakness no longer last until end of turn but until the end of combat.

One thing the archetype's author recommends is Improved Pain Points: double the bonus from pain points.

I, for one, did solve this abundant step issue with Qinggong archetype: Swapping Abundant Step with Slow Fall (0 ki; as the monk ability) which technically just gives you the slow fall that was removed in place of archetype features; the ability itself doesn't need ki-points whatsoever to be usable nor does it have anything that could be boosted with ki, so I don't see why this would be a problematic choice.

RAW from Qinggong Archetype:
Monk Abilities: Some ki powers are standard monk abilities. Even if a qinggong monk selects a different ki power in place of a standard monk ability, she can select that monk ability later as one of her ki powers.
Requirements: All ki powers have a minimum monk level requirement to select them. A monk who does not meet this requirement cannot select that ki power.
Activation: Most ki powers require the monk to spend ki points; the exact amount is listed after the ki power. Ki powers that cost 0 ki do not require the monk to have any ki points in her ki pool to use the ability.
And here's the best part (as shown in the list) 4th level ki power:
Slow fall (monk ability, 0 ki points)

And another plus is, that martial artist would get slow fall in all it's effect, at the appropriate level of effect as it would be for a generic monk; at 12th level it would start from 60 ft. and progress normally :)

Greater Exploit Weakness:

Whenever the martial artist uses exploit weakness, she may instead choose a number of opponents equal to her Wisdom modifier. She gains one of the standard benefits against all opponents whom her Wisdom check succeeds against.

Also, she may opt instead to gain a +2 bonus to all damage rolls and increase her unarmed critical multiplier by one step against exploited foes. This damage is multiplied on a critical hit.
