So I was awakened today by one of the Boys in Brown (that's UPS for those who live where they don't exist) and was handed a nice, heavy box.

What's this? Oooo... it's from our printer...

~SCRABBLE~SCRIBBLE~YANK~RIP~TEAR~

~divine music rings out as I open the package.... light spills forth and casually melts the face off of a nazi.... I intone the three little words of access and lift out THE TOME OF HORRORS COMPLETE~

As I cradled our 8-pound bundle of horrors the nurse said "Congratulations, it's a book!"

What a great way to wake up!

-----------------------

On a serious note - When I opened the Tome I found something missing - there were no creaking noises from the spine.

Meaning as you open your own Tome, when it arrives, the only sounds you will hear are the screams of your player's PCs at the thing you unleash upon them.

Ain't got nothing to do with luck.

Is this when you are supposed to hand out cigars in celebration? I hope to see some pictures of the beast.

Hmmm, I would have guessed hellish screams, or at the very least the infernal fiddle solo from The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

I want my own 8lb book! I just preordered The Tome and I am looking forward to getting my hands on him. My Mail Carrier is going to hate me.

I pre-ordered a while back and still have yet to receive it.
I'm in Colorado.

Should I be worried yet?

Shadow Lodge

Heh. I wonder how long the shipping will take to reach me. Paizo's bundles of joy take a full month to get to me, but Amazon usually manages less than a week. Ah, the joys of APO.

Still, can't wait for my Tomes to arrive.

Nope. None of us have it yet. I too preordered my copy. Chuck just recieved the final proof copy (I think). I think that the printer is shipping out the copies of the ToHC, so we have to wait for them to process the orders once everything is printed.

Is there any chance that ToH will be added to herolab?

Also, if there's a 2nd printing, can those of us who brought the 1st printing get the 2nd printing pdf for free?

The Exchange

And will the new printing include any errata found in the first printing?

I'm working on it, buddy :)

The problem with having errata in the second printing is that it suddenly DOES make the first printing the "inferior" version, especially if people aren't concerned about "collector's value".

The new printing will be undertaken too quickly to be able to officially identify and change any errata. It will be the same book just with a new cover.

That said, in additional printings down the road (if they become a reality) when we've had time to compile and correct errata we probably will fix what we can. My hope is that any errata changes get updated to pdfs and those who have already purchased one of the prior print-run pdfs are automatically given access to the updated pdf. I'll have to get with Bill for the technical side of that, and that's a bridge we'll cross when we come to it, but I don't think that should be too difficult for us to do.

I think the shipping option for this book was only $4 on the FGG site? I picked what seemed like the logical shipping option at the time that I pre-ordered, but $4 doesn't seem like it's nearly enough to ship an 8 lb book.

Is that... uh... book rate?

My only concern, and it is a valid concern as proven so many times by so many OGL products, is that there is incompatibility with the actual CR system of PF.

I'm sure everyone recalls the Sword and Sorcery failures such as the "CR 2 creature with the spells of a 7th level druid and 5 hit dice".

I only wish I were making that up.

How does it compare?

FGG has to contact Lone Wolf to get it added officially. But I am sure Lone Wolf via Hero Labs would be more then happy to do so. If not I am sure that FGG can do it themselves if they are so inclined using the Authoring kit. :)

Either one works for me and I wish it would happen soon hehe!! It would kind of cool to receive the book in hard copy and be able to update Hero Labs with it too! :D

Thanks!!

I raised the same question on the LoneWolf forums for HeroLab. If any 3rd party works were going to be added by LoneWolf, I expect that Tome of Horrors and Advanced Bestiary would be the two best candidates.

I did not see any official yea or nay from LoneWolf. The community response was along the lines of "not likely" (for good reasons, such as LoneWolf is as small a company as Frog God Games and is having difficulty keeping pace with Paizo's releases, never mind adding a huge block of additional work) and that the community would have to do it. There are some folks there already beginning to work on it.

Now, with the new Powered By HeroLab support, maybe there's a better chance, but I doubt FrogGod has the manpower to devote to mastering the HeroLab editor and entering 750 or so monsters, templates, spells, and other goodies. At least, not any time soon. So the odds of an official release are low (at least for the foreseeable future).. unless one of the more experienced community members works something out with Frog God Games (as has been done with Super Genius Games recently for their Dragonrider product).

Hold on. Do you mean the book's spine, or the UPS guy's?

I can tell you we have made the effort to clear up inconsistencies such as those. As James Jacobs has said before, CR is art as much as science, and monster design (and conversion) is always a mixed back of personalities and thougth processes, so I doubt everyone would be in 100% agreement as to the decisions we made I'm sure, but we tweaked a lot of monsters to try to bring them in line with the guidelines in the PF Bestiary.

What, Contacting Lone Wolf? Or doing it yourself?? hehe

I realize you do not have the time to do it yourself bro.. But it is there ANY way that you can contact Lone Wolf and arrange for them to do it?? To be honest this is the ONLY 3rd party product at the moment that I would like to see in Hero Labs!! :)

Frog God Games

Initial introductions have been made with Lone Wolf, but it hasn't gone any farther than that yet. I'm not sure if this is doable or not.

I would love to see TH added as well. Sounds like a job for a Frog God intern! I certainly do not want to see Greg using his Slumbering time on this. =)

No need to worry about that. :)

Maybe a group of fans familiar with HeroLab could collaborate and each person take a letter or two and have it made. Then let FGG give it the "okay" and send it off to HeroLab....

I REALLY want to see this done for HL...

Hero Lab will be contacted as soon as I get books mailed and reprints handled....there are potential IP issues--so i have to run this through my legal too--but I think we will be able to move forward...give me a couple weeks to recover:)

The fans can do this already as they do with quite a bit of other fan created stuff. Unless you are trying to make a for purchase package, that is another story. Www.d20pfsrd.com has quite a bit of stuff up that is fan created.

Has there been any development on the creation of a HeroLab data package for Tome of Horrors Complete?

I believe there are rumblings in the pits of the Abyss.

It would be nice to get a definitive answer as I for one would pay extra for the Hero Labs files being added from Tome of Horrors complete! :) I absolutely LOVE the book and I can hardly wait for the Tome of Horrors for Hero Labs! :)

Kyle, the creator of Combat Manager http://www.combatmanager.com/, imports my data into his app. I've got Tome of Horrors Complete up through the Ss out there along with all the other Paizo data such as the APs.

I believe there is a way to export to the Hero Lab format from his app.

Can't get a definitive date, but it is going to happen. There were delays that are no longer a factor.

I would say the biggest delay is the sheer size of the book and the amount of work it will take to input all the data
