Qinggong monk, slowfall, and spiderstep

Rules Questions

This originally came up when a player in one of my games decided to make a multi-archetype monk. For simplicity's sake I'm going to frame it in the form of a straight qinggong monk though.

So joe the qinggong monk trades away slowfall for a ki power, doesn't matter which. He does not pick up slowfall later.

He does however later trade some other class features for spider step and cloud step.

The problem is that spider/cloud step base the climb/fly speed on joe's slowfall, which he doesn't have.

Is spider/cloud step useless for monk joe? Or does it use what his slowfall would've been, had he not traded it?

What do y'all think?

Apologies if this has already been asked.
Thanks

Both spider/cloud step are useless for monk Joe.

I think monk joe will get slow fall again

4th slow fall 20 ft
6th slow fall 30 ft
8th slow fall 40 ft

ect.

since the qinggong monk listing only has "slowfall (4th)" I would assume that he will get the other slow fall abilities (as they are not on the trade in list of powers). If this is the case I guess those abilities would still work (when Monk Joe gets slowfall eventually)

Edit: nevermind, I was looking just at the chart and not the ability discriptions so a monk doesn't actually get a new slow fall ability at higher levels.

On a side not speaking of Qinggong monk Joe, I'm assuming he still gets all the generic KI pool uses such as KI strike and increased movement ... is this correct? Likewise can a monk use his ki strike with his furry of blows (providing he is using unarmed attacks)?
