Anyone besides me playing this? If so, please add what system you are using. I'm currently a big fan of this game and I normally hate shooter games.

I beat the game yesterday and the ending is exactly what I expected for a 40K game.

How is it comparing to Deus Ex?

I wouldn't know as I've only played this, but there is a thread dedicated to Deus Ex. I'm a big fan of this game currently but I may be biased as I'm a GW fanboy.

Not at all. Both are great in atmosphere, but Deus Ex ist basically a cyberpunk shooter/stealth/rpg mix, while Space Marine is a (fun) shoot anything that moves game. Not enough in common to make comparisons.

Liberty's Edge

I got it for PC. Is there a way to lock onto enemies? When I close I try to hit them with my melee weapon, but they move out of the way and I have to move the camera to try and attack them again. By the time the camera is back to where I can see them again, i'm dead.

I dont have it yet; but one of my buds who posts on these boards says it is totally up my alley. Says the chainsword is just gruesome; eh Balfic? Are you playing on pc or xbox or what? Wonder what the differences between game systems are....

I have it for the PC. Love the campaign and its cinematic views. Gives a great feel for fighting an Ork Horde. Some interesting plot twists in it as well.

PvP is quick and brutal. So don't get discouraged. Leveling up to unlock abilities/weapons makes a huge difference.

Only things I would like to see them add is a few more maps, and maybe a Librarian, or Scout Class's to PvP. Not sure they could balance Tech Marines, and Chaplains well and keep with the fluff.

The Exchange

Love this game. (PS3). It has some minor technical issues, but nothing that's a show-stopper. So far though I have not been able to connect to any multiplayer games for some reason which sucks.

Liberty's Edge

I'm having a very hard time with single player. I can't make it past the first boss. Only way to regain health is with combos and exucutions. I suck at them. I also hate how the camera moves when you are in the middle of a bunch of orcs trying to pull a combo off. All of a sudden my marine is facing the wall.

This game has a few things I really hate. You have to pull off combos to survive. The camera changes on you in the middle of the action, and the game cheats.

just keep out of warboss's reach using Space, he'll die eventually

This was easily one of my favorite games of the year. I'd rank it slightly below Deus Ex, only because there does not seem to be much replayability in the campaign. But what a campaign it was... finally we have a 40k shooter that delivers (Unlike Fire Warrior for the Ps2, lol). I liked it so much I even made an alias.

Unfortunately it looks like it did not sell well. The game recieved great reviews but had the unfortunate timing of coming out at around the same time as several other major titles (Dead Island, Deus Ex, and importantly, Gears of War 3).

It seems to have done okay. In my local games shop it's been constantly at #2-#3 in the charts since release, whilst DEUS EX dropped off much more quickly. But yeah, GEARS OF WAR 3 and then SKYRIM and MW3 in a few weeks will likely dominate for quite some time to come.
