I am sure that bleed and rend are not affected by DR, or at least I am sure I saw developer say so anyway. I can find the post or anything official(RAW) so the main point of this is to find a quote(RAW), get errata, or an FAQ addition.
PS:I am 100% sure about bleed, and about 99% sure for rend attacks.
I actually just asked a similar question in a different thread(one i've just discovered you replied to before you started this thread) but here is my logical assumption on how this would work, both abilities only work assuming the creatures DR didn't reduce dmg from the individual attacks to 0. Seeing as, if you didn't actually cause dmg why would i bleed, and if the attacks didn't actually dig in how can you dig deeper for the rend, but assuming you deal at least one point of dmg with the individual strikes the dmg done from each effect should not be affected by DR.
I've built a TWF barbarian/ranger that uses bleeding critical and Two Weapon Rend and that's how I've been running it at least.
I dont count DR for either one. The only purpose of this thread is to get it FAQ'd so one can be given eventually. This is not so much a debate issue as it is a "designers this one needs your clarification" issue.
I think rend is like sneak attack in that it adds to the damage of the attack that triggers it.

As I recall, it was ruled that Rend is added to the 2nd attack when it hits like Sneak Attack. So technically, it doesn't do damage itself, so it can't be reduced. It also means it doesn't trigger extra damage things like flaming, holy, etc.. But STR bonus still applies, go figure.
That was ruled probably 2 years ago, and I don't know if there's any chance to that.
