Ok, what, besides sneak attack causes 'precision based damage' so far?
Sneak attack is called out several times, but the duelist's precise strike abiltiy is called out once (in the section on darkness of all things)
I got here researching a convoluted method,* but wanted to know is precision ever called out for any other damage?

You and me both buddy. There are quite a few feats and abilites printed after the core book that specify precision damage, but only Sneak Attack and Precise Strike are directly labled like that core.
Also, to answer your spoiler, no. Even if you don't roll, Sneak Attack damage is not multiplied on a critical hit; that is explicitly specified in the rules. That is regardless of whether or not you need to roll for the damage; it's still Sneak Attack damage.

Right, it was in checking that (not that I was worried about a limited use, situational trick allowing a rogue to do +480 damage with a scythe. If he could pull it off at 20th level, more power to him!) I realized that the 'precision' thing is defined.

So basically—as far as I read it, precision damage is a handy way of summarizing "extra damage from critical hits, extra damage from sneak attacks, and extra damage from a duelist's precise strike ability."
