If I change from a dwarf to a tiger which speed do I keep? I find it hard to swallow that my land speed would not change to 40 as a huge tiger when you can change into something to get a 60ft burrow at the same level he is now. Is this ruling explained anywhere?

Also I see posts that talk about becoming a dire tiger, if the spell only gives a fixed bonus what would the difference between a tiger and dire tiger for a druid to shape into? Wouldn't the bonus be the same if both animals are large?

Wild Shape: "This ability functions like the beast shape I spell, except as noted here."

Beast Shape I: "School transmutation (polymorph)"

Transmutation: Polymorph: "Your base speed changes to match that of the form you assume."

Tiger: claws (1d8)

Dire Tiger: claws (2d4)

Very detailed explanation. Thank you!
