Where does the Witch fit into a group?

Advice

So looking at the Witch I can't decide where the Witch Fits into a group.

It looks like it sacrifices Damage Power for a wider support selection. As well as focusing on more Status Effects, but I don't really know as things seem a little weird with the Witch.

So how do people Build Witches anyway? Do you build them with "MAGIC!" like a Wizard or are they generally built more support oriented?

As your overlord !

More seriously, the debuff options of the Witch are crazy.
Evil Eye targeting saving throws, then Misfortune on the following round for a nice little "roll twice take lower for each d20, and add -2 for saving throws" ? Yes please.
Cackle to make the duration infinite as long as you are under withing 30' ? Yes please.
Nasty save or suck spells with a high base DC and lowered resistances on the enemy thanks to hexes ? Oh hell yes.

The basic use of a witch is "f@~+ with your enemies, make them reroll everything until they cry, put the fail into their lives, show them how weak they really are, and add in an occasional healing for the group".

Is it possible to build it with some more damage Oriented Spells? I ask since the group I'm making this for we have two sources of healing and Have no need for three.

They can easily serve as a party's primary spellcaster in place of a wizard or sorcerer.

EDIT: If you want damage spells, go with the Elements patron. But the witch is best at save or suck spells. Blast magic is a trap, however satisfying.

Just because you have healing spells doesn't mean you have to take them in your list of spells known. Also, damage with spells isn't really the thing of a witch. It's role is heavy debuff, battlefield control and occasional healing, just as to be prepared for anything.

EDIT : Also, for using damage spells, I suggest you take the Wizard with evocation school, admixture subschool. There are feats allowing you to perfect some spells and get metamagic at lower spell level, or cast spells at a higher level, effectively adding to damage.

Where your Wizard used to fit.

Witch:
you have a few interesting magic options for everyday travel that you can use as often as you want.
And you have mediocre spell options from cleric to wizard, heal for example.
A witch is great if you want to "cast" just because it's funny. Meet someone on th road, want to put a big scar on his face, be a witch and do it as often as you want. The wizard always has to think "but what if the next encounter comes, can I waste my spells for fluff reasons?".

p.s. Actually her spells are way better than mediocre, but I don't want to get too much into detail, nore into min/maxing.
