I need a 5th wheel

Advice

So it looks like our weekly group lost a member. I need a character build that will fit into the following party.

Wizard 7 focusing on battlefield control
Barbarian 7
Cleric 7
Ranger 5/Fighter 2

The character will be 7th level and has to be able to handle traps, magical or mundane. I rolled 14, 18, 14, 13, 14, 17 for stats. Any of the Pathfinder books are available.

Bard with Disable Device (forgot the name of the archtype) or a Ranged Rogue

Liberty's Edge

Archeologist.

But pretty much anything would fit well in that group.

Liberty's Edge

Since you already have both a straight arcane caster and a straight divine caster who can both buff the bloody crap out of the party, I'd advise against a bard and just play a "mostly rogue" if you want to deal with traps and not nerf yourself in combat.

Well, you could make a total combat monster ranger archetype who also sometimes disables a trap -- or you could relish the role of a madcap scoundrel with a lot of tricks (such as concealing the fact that he can do almost as big of a crapton of damage as a combat monster):

STR:13 (half-elf)
DEX+22 (18+racial+item)
CON:18 (17+bump)
INT:14
WIS:14
CHA:14

00 b0 traits: Berserker of the Society, Armor Expert
01 b1 barb1 (urban barbarian archetype, UC), Combat Reflexes, Skill Focus:Acrobatics
02 b1 rogu1 SA+1d6 (no archetypes)
03 b2 rogu2 Evasion, Talent:Finesse Rogue, Dervish Dance
04 b3 barb2 CON>18, Rage 13r/day, Rage Power (Good For What Ails You)
05 b4 figh1 Dodge, Mobility
06 b5 rogu3 SA+2d6
07 b6 rogu4 Talent:Combat Trick(Power Attack), Furious Focus
...
08 b6 rogu5 SA+3d6, STR>14
09 b7 rogu6 Talent:Weapon Training(Weapon Focus:Scimitar), Quickdraw
10 b8 rogu7 SA+4d6
11 b9 figh2 Critical Focus, FEAT
12 10 rogu8 TALENT
13 11 rogu9 SA+5d6

* Build grants BAB6 at 7th for more combat oompf than rogu7/BAB5.
* You can rage normally, or controlled rage for DEX+4....YES.
* You're DEX will be 26, so prior to Celestial Armor you'll be wearing padded armor. 5gp non-masterwork, and not a penny more.

You haven't stated what starting wealth will be. Assuming standard 23,500 for 7th....

Equipment: +1/Keen scimitar (8,315), Belt of Incredible Dexterity +2 (4,000), Dusty Rose Prism Ioun Stone in Wayfinder (5,500; AC+1, resonates +2/+2 CMB/CMD), Pale Green Ioun Stone [cracked, type1, att +1] (5000), MW composite longbow STR+1 (500), heavy wooden throwing shield (57), misc mundane (128).

Appearance: dresses like a cleric of a neutral nature god, carrying a big shield (to invite AoE or touch spells instead of will-save attacks).

HP (if 1st:max/rest:half+rnd): 12+25[r5]+6[f1]+6[fc]+28[CON] = 77hp (+14 if rage:CON+4).

AC:18(+2shield=20), Flat:12(+2shield=14), Touch:16, Raging(controlled:DEX+4): +2, Dodge: +1, Mobility: +4

Combat: Fighting style is switch-hitter ranger who drops shield as free action, Quickdraw bow to shoot targets out of sneak-attack range, then switches to one-handed Dervish Dancing with a scimitar.

Att: 6(BAB)+8(rage:DEX)+1(ioun)+1(enh) = +16, flank: +18

Dmg: 1d6+8(rage:DEX)+4(PA) = ~15.5, SA: ~26, Crit: ~31, Crit+SA: ~41.5

Future big-ticket items: Celestial Armor, Belt of Physical Perfection (upgraded from Belt of Physical Might STR/DEX, upgraded from Belt of Incredible Dexterity), Boots of Speed, various amulets, rings, cloaks, quivers, yadda-yadda.
