I'm still around. My group was on a slight hiatus due to my wife and I having a baby. Yay!
Grimmy, where are you from?
Congratulations! Did you name the little bugger Doodlebug? 'Cuz it's a good name.
I haven't been to Double Midnight in a while, but when I played there once in a non-event game, it was free.
Oh, give a yell here if and when you start Rise of the Runelords. Please.

But we are about to start back up. We're in the greater Nashua area. We are thinking of starting up the Rise of the Runelords anniversary edition with all the nifty pawns.
Grimmy, where are you from?
Dublin. Lived here as a kid and recently returned after a long time in Las Vegas and before that Boston.

Maybe we can all meet up at Double Midnight Comics some night soon for a meet 'n' greet type thing. It's always nice to meet more RPers in the area.
I have a friend who would be interested in a meetup as well. From there, I'm sure we can better arrange some gaming groups/times/arrangements.
Any interest? If so, when is everyone free?
I'm available most weekday evenings except Wednesdays for the next few weeks.

PS. How does gaming at Double Midnight work? Is it free? Do you have to be a member. Just curious.
It's free to play there. Just let them know you game group is interested in playing on Tuesday nights and they should give the OK. It looks like they have room enough for players. This is a new thing for them. Usually the shop closes 7-8PM on weekdays but they are leaving it open on Tuesdays 'til 11PM for games.
It also looks like they are trying to drum up PFS games for Wednesday evenings.

We are currently full but I'll post in this thread if our group loses someone in the future.

Wow, 6pm is an early bed time. Finding a group at that time must be difficult. Do you work an odd shift?
Yeah, it's all about the weekends. I have a scheduled start time of 3:30 am, but often get called in for midnight.
That being said, it's a union gig, which means I can pretty much call out with impunity. Hee hee!

Doodle I worked a graveyard shift that started at 2am for almost 6 years. My sleep cycle is still messed up from it. It was a union job too so I know what you mean about calling out.

Alrighty Jim. I certainly don't want to intrude on your game/gaming group as well. I hope it didn't come across as that. =)
For everyone interested in meeting, should we hold off another week or go ahead and meet up on this Tuesday?
Jim, did you have to talk to Double Midnight Comics before you started showing up and playing? Or did it sort of just evolve? I'm wondering if I should reach out and send an email to the store asking if it's okay for us to meet up there on Tuesday before we all land there. Especially if the intention is to possibly start playing at the store in the near future.

If intruding on Jim's game is a concern, there is a shop in Nashua called Relentless Dragon. I have talked to the owner Erica over the past couple of months about setting up a Pathfinder night. I just called and confirmed that Tues nights are available, and they would be happy to host our meetup.

Double Midnight has a lot of room. I'm sure we would all fit into the gaming area without interrupting Jim's game. Also, they are a pretty awesomely-stocked comic book/game store.
On the other hand,
As for what week, I vote wait, but it's up to you guys. I'm down for whatever.

Depending on plans that sometimes get made for me without my being consulted, I might make a cameo.
Pity Relentless Dragon is kinda 'eh.' It's like, a hundred feet from my house. I walk by it all the time to go to India Palace, and wonder how it could be that a gaming store fails to lure me in to spend all my money... (I had to build a new bookshelf for all the crap I bought at the Wizard's Tower!)

It's all good with me. There's plenty of room in their game space if you guys are looking to run a game. Members of our group usually start arriving anywhere between 5:45 and 6:30, and we are playing usually shortly after 6:30.
They have a nice selection of Pathfinder products although not as much as The Comic Store in Nashua. We've been addicted to buying Pathfinder minis there (they have a ton) since we started playing.
Oh and yeah, Relentless Dragon is the kind of store that gives game stores a bad name. I swear to God I could walk in there and clean their front area out because their employees are sitting in the back room playing instead of working. And that's only one of their customer service issues.

It's alright, Annie's Book Stop gets any money that I want to spend at Relentless Dragon but can't because of lack of things to buy.
You live near there? Shiznit, son, we probably pass each other at Market Basket all the time!

I know this is a non-PFS thread, but if anyone is interested in trying PFS we run two 4 hr games at The Comic Store in Nashua, NH on the last Saturday of every month.
You can sign up here:
I would also like to get a monthly weekend game going at a game store in the Manchester, NH area. Is Double Midnight the best choice?
If anyone is interested in organizing PFS in Manchester weekdays or weekends please PM me. I can provide some assistance and help you reach some pretty dedicated players in southeastern New England who might come up to help get your event going with a few extra players.
Ultimately, I'd like to find a Venture-Lieutenant for the Manchester area.
EDIT: Oh, and for those of you who know Opa, he is opening a new game store called Pop Culture in southeastern NH on Oct 1st. Mike Adams plans to offer a weekly PFS game there as well.
| Grimmy |
Has anyone been into Relentless Dragon since the management changed? The new owner Erica was on message boards actively looking for gamers to host. We e-mailed and she seemed nice. Maybe things have changed a little?
Anyway, I only mentioned it because it's closer for me as well. I have no problem at all driving to Double Midnight if that is where you guys prefer.

Hey Don,
Someone is trying organize a weekly PFS game at Double Midnight in Manchester on Wednesday nights. I don't know who it is. We just saw the sign-up sheet for it last week. You should shoot the shop an email, they might have more information on who's trying to organize it.
And good for Opa. I was wondering what all the Pop Culture stuff was that folks were thumbs-upping on FB.

Oh, my beautiful New Hampshire thread!
Hello, Grimmy! We never met at the con. :(
I'm afraid, though, that my game is full. :(
Where are all the other NH gamers?!?
I'm another NH gamer! Unfortunately, I am on the other side of the state on the NH/VT border near Claremont. About 2 hours away from Nashua, where it seems most everyone else is located.

I've got the same problem, only I'm down near Brattleboro. Curiously enough, the only group I've ever really succeeded in playing with out here were originally from Claremont. One or two of those players still lives up there.

Yeah, Keene is pretty close to me but they're a bit of a chaotic group at Toy City, and they all play on Saturday nights, which don't work so well for me. I'm not a big fan of playing in gaming stores either; I've got hearing issues and large spaces like a store causing weird reverberations with hearing aids.
| Grimmy |
Wander Weir, it's not that I'm a huge fan of playing in stores or organized play ultimately but it seems perfect for introductions, rather then a bunch of strangers just coming to each others homes.
The thing about Toy City that I didn't realize right away is that the gaming area is pretty much always available and empty and quiet during the stores business hours. So while you might not want to jump into whatever they do after the shop closes on saturday nights, the space could still be useful if we co-ordinated something on our own.

I've been trying to write and update all day, stupid work getting in the way.
I, and my friend Mike, are still very interested in meeting up with everyone. However, we cannot be over there this evening. We should be all set to meet up next Tuesday night, the 25th, for a meet up and maybe some gaming.

Venture-Lieutenant Myles Crocker was coordinating PFS at Toy City in Keene, NH. He has been recovering from a lung illness in North Carolina for the past few months. He hopes to return soon, but his lungs must be functioning at a certain level before his doctors will OK it.
In the mean time Brandon Peterson (Jagyr Ebonwood) was tapped to offer PFS there. I do not think Brandon is as motivated as Myles was, but if you are interested in PFS at Toy City it wouldn't hurt to send him a PM. If you can't reach him via a PM let me know and I will forward your info to him in an email.
I believe there is an active PFS group at Quarterstaff in Burlington, VT. If anyone reading this is interested in getting their own PFS group organized, let me know and I will do what I can to support your efforts.
