you're a rogue...your main method of dealing damage is sneak attack, your AC and hits prolly ain't up to much and now you are in great danger of losing the only ability which makes you a half decent damage dealer. Every other PC can do most of the jobs you do anyway and sneak attack is a big way for you to contribute.
would a feat which took away the fighters ability to power attack be acceptable? or stopped a wizard casting spells if he got hit? just seems that rogues get a raw deal as it is and this just finishes them.
please reassure me that this isn't the final nail in the coffin for the rogue.

It would be helpful if you would quote whatever it is you're talking about.

new feat in UC...when you hit an adjacent opponent, with a melee attack, that opponent loses the flanking bonus on attack rolls and it prevents sneak attacks until the start of your turn.
Yea I know the sky isn't falling down as you so helpfully put it but the rogue seems to be getting the mucky end of the stick every time.| Starbuck_II |

It is just showing why you can't be a mundane rogue:
you need Invisibility (like Ninja or scrolls or wands) or deny dex (Glitterdust and hope they fail save more than once).| wraithstrike |
Most foes won't have this feat.
If you don't get hit, you can continue to deal sneak attack damage.
Even if you do get hit, you can use some other sneak-attack enabling mechanism besides flanking, such as feinting or becoming invisible.
Rogues don't generally have great AC so hitting them is not that hard. Feinting is a standard action without feat, and becoming invisible is not that easy. It is also less effective at higher levels.
I understand what you are saying, and I know the feat is not one everyone will take, but it is one more dagger in the rogue's back.

And the disruptive feat combined with step-up totally negated casters because now you can't 5-foot step back from the fighter or cast defensively! Casters are totally awful and I am never playing a wizard again because of this...
Or, as Ross has pointed out, you could acknowledge that this is not something that everyone is going to take. Infact, it probably is something that almost no one will take because it is pretty situational and there is usually something bigger to worry about.
It might be nice for a fighter to grab as a bonus feat if he knows he's going to be infiltrating a rogue's guild for the next few months and then swap out at his next opportunity.
In summation: The sky is not falling.

Disruptive (Combat)
Your training makes it difficult for enemy spellcasters to safely cast spells near you.
Prerequisites: 6th-level fighter.
Benefit: The DC to cast spells defensively increases by +4 for all enemies that are within your threatened area. This increase to casting spells defensively only applies if you are aware of the enemy's location and are capable of taking an attack of opportunity. If you can only take one attack of opportunity per round and have already used that attack, this increase does not apply.
Why cant I cast defensively?

It was exaggeration. Disruptive no more prevents a caster from casting defensively than flanking foil prevents a rogue from sneak attacking. As Ross pointed out, it just makes it harder.
