Seconded, setting up and tearing down a GenCon booth is a nightmare. Been there, done that once, DO NOT WANT AGAIN.
Actually, during the teardown I would likely die from dehydration if it wasn't for some nice guys in blue shirts from some greek-named company (Pye-zogh, IIRC) who helped us out with some water. What nice fellows...

I'll be there again this year, and unlike last year, I'm actually signed up to play some games. Last year I only got to do a single pickup game, but I'm slated for 4 formal gaming slots this time around (all PF games). I might try to sneak into some Shadowrun as well, time pending.
And there's also the issue of having to finish a project for Paizo by Friday - will be interesting having to edit and polish stuff during the Con itself. Blarg. Sean has already threatened that he's going to write on my face if it's not super awesome by then.

I’ll be there all four days and will be leaving tomorrow. This time I actually have official tickets for a PFS scenario. Shades of Ice, and signed up for all three parts with a friend of mine.
Smart enough to actually sign up when events became available this time instead of waiting like 2 months. Even still, the PFS events filled up fast!

I'll be there all 4 days. Can't wait to hit the road tomorrow. I've got mostly PFS events I'm signed up for, but also will be finally trying a game of Savage Worlds out.
Wolfsnap, you mentioned you're in Author's Alley, but we can't look you up unless you give us your name...unless you use Wolfsnap as your pseudonym on your published work, that is.

Actually, on the Gen Con promo Material they always list me by the title of the graphic novel that I publish: Dire Destiny. Be careful how you approach me though! If you get within 10 ft' of me I will hand you a flyer and try to sell you books. :)

Hence the importance of a 10' pole at the con.

LOL. So that's the answer: "If people make offers to sell me graphic novels, this is the ten-foot pole I wouldn't touch them with!"
I guess those flyers are reach weapons. No, I've got it: salespeople are so fearsome, they've got a 10' reach themselves, like they were Large or Huge.
Of course, this ten-foot rule only applies at a convention. It's a - groaner alert - Con bonus.

And I'll be there. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and see me in Author's Alley and say hello!
Who has exciting stuff planned this year?
*sigh*
I did, but then the real-world called me away to duty (Army) this weekend.
See apology to folks signed up for my GENCON events.
I had seven events lined up and 450 folks (rounded) signed up for them (mostly seminars).
Hopefully I will get to go to either Origins or GENCON next year -- 2007 was the last year I had the chance to go.

Just remember folks, my fellow podcasters and game buddies from Flagons and Dragons will be there. If you have any gifts for me, just pass them along to the guys and they'll get them to me.
A Gift, you say, reminds me of that old Wookie song "What do you get a Wookie for Christmas (when he already owns a comb)?"
What do you get a zombie for GenCon
when he's already got a brain?
What do you get in a hurry
for a hungry kinda fellow?
Maybe a mind flayer flurry
or a fresh squeezed martian mellow.
Maybe a snack of insane
or nice frontal lobe BonBon?

Indeed!
However, I don’t know about you, but I've been saying that since I first learned of this this near mythical event way back in the early 1980's...
Oh well...
I actually got to go in 2007; it was the year that Wizards/Habro released 4e D&D.
We will have to see about next year.
