Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I just purchased the Pathfinder series and plan on running the Carrion Crown books. So far I have purchased
1. The Core Rulebook
2. Bestiary 1
3. Bestiary 2
4. Advanced Player Guide
5. Ultimate Magic
6. The Carrion Crown 1-5
7. The always necessary GM screen.

Do I need any other books like Rule of Fear to run this campaign to it's fullest?

"Need" no.

I would recommend picking up Rule of Fear (at least the PDF), and I personally love the campaign setting. But you have what you "Need".

agreed...you don't "need" Rule of Fear but it is excellent and provides some real depth.
Also has some neat ideas for little side adventures too

Thank you for the advice. I just purchased the Rule of Fear book. I almost never go PDF as there is just something about having a the book in hand that I enjoy thoroughly. Outside of the "need" category are there any other titles that I should get to maximize this campaign?

Classic Horrors Revisited fleshes out undead nicely and Dungeons of Glorain has Gallowspire in it for after the AP...

I do really like how Paizo has presented the different ethnicity of their campaign world of Golarion. So I would suggest adding to that The Inner Sea World Guide, but if you want to get a taste before you buy you could get The Inner Sea Companion (aim at players) which give an overview of the world and the people within it.

Also the Pathfiner Tales novel Prince of Wolves by Dave Gross is set in Ustalav to give you an idea of what that country looks like.

If you subscribe to any of the lines of products they provide a free PDF of the product when they ship the product to you (only new releases though). I greatly enjoy that option as I too really like to have the book but I don't tend to game at home so I have an iPad with all of the Paizo PDFs on it so my books go with me but I am not carrying 100 pounds.

This isn't a product, and you may already have found this, but there is a sub-forum here for the Carrion Crown adventure path:

Carrion Crown sub-forum

This is true for all of the adventure paths, and there is a lot of good information and advice to be found.

This information has been extremely helpful. I am infinitely grateful for all the tips, links and the books referenced thus far. Thank you all. I am anxious to receive my orders. I doubt will be able to receive the PDF's because I ordered through Amazon, which is not a big deal as my work will have me dispatched all week anyways. I am due for quite a bit of reading though after my RPG group completes our Friday night campaign.

If you like maps and poster maps you might consider getting:

Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Carrion Crown Poster Map Folio

It contains large maps of the cities and an even larger map of Ustalav.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

The Gamemastery Guide is also quite useful - moreso for Carrion Crown than most APs, given it's coverage of Haunts, Sanity & Madness & such.

Sovereign Court

Consider the Initiative tracker pad + supplement and the condition cards.

Those are really useful in speeeding combat management

Stupid question, but did you pick up the free download of the Carrion Crown Player's Guide? If not, it may be helpful or not... But hey, it's a free download from paizo.
