Quick Channel

Rules Questions

OK, so everyone in my group is taking Leadership and making cohorts. I am bringing in extra healing with a cleric. In addition if our party is TPK any time soon then I am up next for the role of healer. I have a pretty good build for an efficient healer but except item creation and extra channels my option are limited.

I have stumbled across the feat quicken Channel and I like the idea of getting in a channel quicker even if it is at double cost. However, since this allows a cleric to channel as a move action for the cost of two uses of the daily allotment then I am wondering can the cleric then channel right afterward as a normal channel is a standard action? I don't see why not but I am just double checking to see if there is some rule against this.

works for me although if you plan on using this during combat you might want selective channelling as well otherwise your going to be healing enemies as well.

On a side note mid combat healing is not a particularly effective use of a cleric. But I guess there are some occasions it would be nice

Already taken, along with versatile channeling, and extra channeling as well. My cohort cleric will be able to channel 8 times a day so far ay level 5.

I find that channels work best for mid fight healing although I need to get her more Charisma in the future so that selective channeling is more effective.

our cleric has found the opposite, channel heals outside of fights using offensive spells and attacking during combat is a more effective way to contribute to fights.

but hey each to their own ;)

Well in our group, as long as it is out of combat our GM allows for full healing. In combat we have to roll. I think it was described to me as a concentration thing versus immediate threats. In addition, we tend to always make sure that we have Wands of cure light wounds. Even if we didn't get the full healing out of combat we still minimize the action economy.

Liberty's Edge

Quick Channel does not function like the old Quicken Turning. It's a move action instead of a free action. So you could still channel twice on your own turn, first as a move action then as a standard action. Then you could 5 foot and move.
