Synthesist evolution question

Hi all,

I have a player who is going synthesist/rogue. He wants to select the skilled evolution to increase his skills by another +8, here is the question:

1. As a synthesist he gains access to teh eidolon's evolutions and special stuff.
2. As a synthesist his eidolon has no skills or feats.

Can a synthesist's eidolon access this evolution since it targets something it doesnt have?

The evolution doesn't actually target anything. It simply grants a +8 bonus (of whatever type, I forget). You can get that for skills your eidolon doesn't possess and you can get it when your eidolon doesn't even get skill points.

When the synthesist merges with his eidolon he gains the evolutions. Ergo, he gains the skilled evolution, ergo he gains that bonus. That simple.
