Brood master discussion / clarification please

Rules Questions

I'm trying to figure out exactly how to legally calculate a brood via the brood master. Please save opinions and houserules in another thread. I'm only interested in how to calculate the abilitis of the brood. Evolution points are fairly straight forward, but I'm confused about how to separate hit dice.

Let's say I'm a level 4 brood master. I have a 1 hd edilion and a 3 hd edition.

Before I add evolution points do I just read across the chart for the 1 hd (normally level 1) edilion and the 3hd line (normally 3 rd level) edilion? Then add evolution points to taste?

If this has been covered elsewhere please link the thread. Thanks everyone.

No one? I figured rules lawyers would be all over this.

You split the available HD at any given level. 4th level=3HD. I don't see any way to interpret it differently.

Dude, you should give people more that 100 minutes to respond before bumping. :p

Here's the relevant text:
"Regardless of the number of eidolons in the brood, each eidolon has the same base attack bonus and base saving throw bonuses, but the rest of the eidolon's base statistics must be divided between the eidolons, including Hit Dice (minimum 1), skill points, number of feats, armor bonus, Str/Dex bonus, evolution pool, and maximum number of natural attacks."

So, for your level 4 dude, look at level 4 of the eidolon table. Each eidolon gets the +3 BAB, the +3 good saves, and the +1 bad save. Everything else is divided as you see fit among the eidolons.

So you have 3 HD to divide up (which means Eidolon-A gets 2 HD and Eidolon-B gets 1 HD, or vice versa).
12 skill points to divide up as you see fit.
2 points of armor bonus to divide up as you see fit.
1 point of Str bonus and 1 point of Dex bonus to divide up as you see fit.
7 evolution points to divide up as you see fit.
And 4 attacks per round to divide up as you see fit.

You could make two equal eidolons, or one good one and a sucky one (even one with no attacks!), or a fighty one and a stealthy one.
