Playing an oracle, is it worth a couple level dip into paladin? I'm mostly thinking for a combat oracle of either metal or battle. The cha synergy between the oracle's casting and some of the paladin's abilities make it seem worth it to me.
Dipping is almost never worth it for a full caster.
A Paladin dipping into Oracle for a level or so, now, that's not a half-bad idea, but any Full Caster is going to be relying on spells, and being two full levels behind is going to suck. Alot.

Past level 11 it can be worth it. Why 11? Thats when most of the oracle of battle abilitys are caped out. So for PFSP its not a good idea with the level cap at 11. If it's a home game make sure you get to 11 oracle befor you do the two levels of paladin. Even then I think you will be better off as a full oracle then to take two levels of paladin.
Examples: of level 11 oracle powers
War Sight 3Dice keap one on init.
Weapon Master Greater Weapon Focus (this one is level 12)
Manuver Master Greater (combat manuver feat)
Resiliency you do not lose a hit point when you take a standard action while disabled.
You get the over all idea.

I agree with Tom S 820. Far more worth it to do Oracle 1/ Pal 19. I happent to be playing Oracle of Lore 1/ Pal 3 (with Sacred Servant & Hopitalier Archtypes) in the Carrion Crown. I just put the my stat point into Cha and I got a +1 AC, +1 to Fort & Will and a +1 to Reflex. The best stat boosting spell for this character is Eagle's splendor, hands down. The only down side is because my Oracle lvl won't ever go up I'm stuck with some crappy spells I'd rather not have, but hey, extra cure light wnds and access to the cleric's list for wands in the future makes me a pretty impressive back up healer/ front liner. Which is kind of necessary, given we've no cleric or other longterm divine caster. Next level due to hospitalier I'll channel 7/day for 1d6, lay on hands 6/day for 2d6, cast cure light wounds 4/day plus prepaired Paladin Spells. 6th level's bonded holy symbol will increase chanel to 2d6, so I'd only be a d6 behind a cleric my level. The best aspects recieved from the Lore oracle at level 1 is side -step revelation (allowing me to dump dex something I rarely do) and Focus Trance. Hello +20 to intellegence based checks, and thank you extra revelation! Next stop is either the Greater Mercy/ Ultimate Mercy tree or a look into the potentials of the Eldritch Heritage feats. My one weakness is ranged attacks, but due to a trait the gives me Use Magic device as a class skill with a +1 bump, I've a +12 UMD for the wands of Magic Missle I'll be purchasing in the future. Sacred Servant also buffs my Paladin Spell casting with a Domain. The only downside is that the Domains for Irori kind a suck, but I'm looking into either Law or Strength. Usually would not even consider Law, but this is Carrion Crown, and with the new Cthulu AP on the horizon, Law is starting to sound better and better.
