Vitriolic Mist Ruling

Simply put: Does does the effects of vitriolic mist and fire shield stack?

Since I'm GM currently, I'm going to rule that it does for now. However, I'd like a little more insight to what others (including Staff) think.

In absence of a specific exclusion, I'd go with the general statement: "Spells or magical effects usually work as described, no matter how many other spells or magical effects happen to be operating in the same area or on the same recipient." Both ought to work.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. I guess it could be tough on a lot of monsters if an Eldritch Knight type were tanking with this combo on, but at least he wouldn't be attacking while he buffed up, and if he cast Stoneskin first too he might have used more resources to kill monsters by getting beat up than he would have by just blasting and chopping them.

Thanks for the input. That one bit that mentions that it works as fire shield was just enough to cast doubt in my mind, and the mind of the player that brought it up. Thank you again.
