I have a PC who wants to hold charges when he uses his Spell Combat, and deliver them next turn. Does this work?
In Round 1 use Spell Combat to Attack with Sword and cast Shocking Grasp but holding the charge.
In Round 2 use Spell Combat to make a Touch Attack with Shocking Grasp spell held last turn. Then cast a Vampiric Touch, and with Spellstrike, attack with sword to deliver the Vampiric Touch.
I'm not sure why he wants this, but does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks for the input.

Round 1: He can choose to not take the free attack granted by casting Shocking Grasp. I don't know why he would, but he could. Maybe he kills the monster with his sword, nothing else is in range, but he doesn't want to waste his casting. Either way, he can cast and hold the charge.
Round 2: If he uses Spell Combat, you could rule that he can't make a regular touch attack because Spell Combat specifies 'melee weapon' and while he is armed (by the held charge) it's still not a melee weapon. He could, however, use Spellstrike to deliver the held charge with his sword.
Then, as part of casting Vampiric Touch, he's entitled to a free touch attack, which he can choose to deliver with his sword via Spellstrike or via a regular touch attack.
