Muugru and Heshlem:
As you approach the den to grab the two young pups you notice gold chain with a silver bell and you assume (correctly I might add) that this is the family heirloom that the farmer talked about. You grab the chain and the two pups and head back to the farm house to let the farmer know of your deed.
Zanfoodle Stumbleduck
Zanfoodle, still standing on his chair somewhat unsteadily after being hit with the flying mug, stops in the act of trying to grab Frizzen's tankard at the sound of the musket blast.
To Fanny when she comes around, "Interesting things you do for fun around here! Does this happen often? And to be honest, it was more Frizzen's firearm stopping that fight than anything I did..."
He looks somewhat sheepishly at the spot where his mug USED to be before he launched it across the room.
Muugru
"Muugru the fur is also worth ale money. I think next time we should take them back to town so we can drink more."
Muugru lifts an eyebrow as he contemplates Heshlem's comment. "It not too late. Always good to have more ale money!"
Muugru cuts a strip of mutilated fur off demonstating a complete lack of skinning knowledge. He holds the jagged, un-even peice of fur up, "how many more of these get us ale?"

A messenger comes in with a note for Frizzen, Zan, Grey and Kyras. It simply says, "Need to speak with you" and is signed Pandin. You have no idea who Pandin is or where you are supposed to meet him, but something tells you that all of those points are irrelevant and that Pandin will find you one way or another, though you are not sure if the note means he does not wish this meet be in public or not....

Heshlem does not even know how to respond at first, and thinks to himself "How did this guy even learn how to properly use weapons without getting someone killed?"
"The fur has to be all in one piece*. Don't worry about it though. We can do it with the next animal. I think we should get back to town to show that our job was completed."
*He has no idea if that is true or not. He is mostly just trying to avoid explaining anything else to Muugru right now.
'Grey'
Grey reads the simple note, (One note for each person? Or just the one note told to each character?) before moving a little closer to Frizzen,
"I must say, that is an fascinating instrument for making noise." Grey points at the long metal tube in Frizzen's hands, "How does one go about working such a thing? What is it called?" He asks, trying to start up a conversation with the rather 'loud' Halfling. (^_~)
"You don't think, perhaps, your noise offended this 'Pandin' by chance, do you?"
Frizzen
Cocking his his head a little to the side and raising his eyebrow at Grey's sudden appearence and somewhat odd choice of clothing, Frizzen figures "to each their own I suppose." Answering Grey's questions, the Halfling replies,"Well sir, I call this instrument a musketand it'll certainly do a bit more than make loud music, haha. Asfor this Pandin character, if he, she, or otherwiseis lookin' for me they're gonna need to be a bit less skittish." he finishes with a wink and a smile.

Heshlem and Muugru:
When you return the necklace to the farmer he is very grateful and tell you to wait as he steps inside his small, but sturdy farmhouse. He comes back a moment later, "Err sorry it isn't much, but I do need to be replacing a cow now tonight, but I have no need for these anymore." He hands over a small coin pouch with 12 gold pieces inside, as well as two potions of cure light wounds and a note. "Those are from my old days in the militia, no need for that anymore in this quiet town, well it used to be a quiet town. Take that note back to the mayor it will get ya some ale and a room at the Fancy Farmer."
Due to Muurgu's "excellent" skill in butchery and the fact he ate as he butchered the wolves, you take back 40 pounds of meat, perhaps Fanny will smoke and cure it for you.
Entire party:
Due to your completion of the two quests given you each of you receive 500 xp, 10 gold pieces, 4 pouches of Lakeshore's tabacco (they are famous for it) and 40 pounds of trail rations to split between the group. Also you get 2 wolf pups that can be sold or used by the party.

As Heshlem and Muugru enter the Fancy Farmer they too receive a note (given to Heshlem) reading, "Need to talk with you." and like the other note it was simply signed Pandin.
Once Muugru and Heshlem find themselves a table, Fanny comes out of the kitchen with two tankards of ale for each party member.
"There be a ball tonight have a drink to loosen up and relax and perhaps you would like a bath to freshen up." She says with a smile looking directly at Muugru. But guessing that he does not understand she grabs him by the hand and walks him upstairs to a large copper bathtub. She walks him to the tub and motions for him to sit. She quickly fills the tub and adds soap before he knows what is happening and in a moment he is scrubbed clean and his odor subsides. Then she walks him back down the stairs and lets the rest of the party know that the tub is now free and suggests that each of you follow suit with a gentle, but athoritative voice.
Kyras Acaman
Sorry about being MIA last couple days.
After the drunkards settle down, Kyras sees the halfling standing on the table with his musket. Well, he fits the description pretty well.
Approaching the table, "You don't happen to be the man who dragged me into town a bit ago do you? I owe you my life, I think. I am Kyras Acaman.
After note arrives.
"Huh, I don't know this person. That is odd and top of all the weirdness too. I guess he will find us when he wants to talk then. Well atleast let me buy you a drink while we wait." Waving over one of the servers he orders a round for everyone at the table. Indicating the musket, "That is a piece of work. I wish I could remember what attacked me on the way back but eh thats how those things go, I guess. I just remember something getting the drop on me then waking up here in town. Never shoulda let that happen. You use that thing to scare it off?"
When Fanny comes around.
"Mistress Fanny, I'd been looking for you. I was gonna ask you if you knew where this fellow was," gesturing over to Frizzen, "but it appears I found him." The last with a smile that fades as he continues on. "But I guess I could ask you this instead. You wouldn't know who this Pandin person is would ya?" Thinking to himself, Hmm, I wonder if he knows something about what happened to Father.
Muugru
Farmer visit:
Muugru expectantly holds his hand out to receive the payment from the farmer. He gives the pouch a quick shake trying to judge its weight. Moog looks inside and sees the gold coins. That sort of surprises him since he is normally paid in copper. He knows of the heiarchy of copper, silver and gold coins... but not their converted worth. When the farmer brings out two containers of liquid, Muugru's attitude changes for the better. He throws the pouch back to Heshlem and reaches out for a bottle. Upon supposedly recognizing what is being offered, Muugru mumbles something to himself about 'crappy wine', and pulls off the small bottle's stopper. Assumably, just as he is about to toss back a swig, eiter Heshlem or the farmer points out to him that it is a healing potion. Muugru stoppers it back up, and in a rare instance utters the words "thanks".
When the farmer tells Muugru he will get ale and a room at the Fancy Farmer for taking back the piece of paper, Muugru almost beams a smile.
Mayor visit:
Upon visiting the mayor, Muugru will proudly advise "the work is done". Muugru looks over to Heshlem and says "give him the paper so we can get the ale". After a brief exchange of words between the mayor and Heshlem... most of which Muugru only half listens to, he looks confused when the mayor hands him some more gold. Muugru already did the work and was paid by the farmer... he can't figure out why he is getting paid by the mayor for the same job. Muugru smart though... he knows when someone offers to give you money... so he takes it. "Foolish humans. The joke is on them!", he thinks to himself. Then he looks toward Heshlem, hoping that he too just plays it cool. Sure enough he does and also takes the money. Muugru is happy to see that this 'civilized' half-orc is just as greedy as he is.
Muugru munches on a bit of raw wolf meat on their way over to the Fancy Farmer. To ehnance the flavor he even tries to sprinkle on some of the spices the mayor gave him, but they taste awful, so he throws all 4 pouches of the awful spices onto the ground. Assumably Heshlem just shakes his head as he sees the fine tobacco being thrown away and quickly retrieved by some locals.
Fancy Farmer visit:
When greeted by Fanny and told they would smoke and cure the meat, Muugru is at first slighlty angered. "Why ruin nice fresh meat", he thinks to himself. But Muugru is no dummy. It occurs to him that he has a lot of meat and he really does hate the taste of rancid meat. He keeps a little midnight snack for himself and agrees to let Fanny smoke the remainder.
As Muugru sits down, he is given a note. He studies it carefully, shrugs and then wipes some of the wolf blood off his face with it and throws it in the fire. Fortunately, Heshlem recieved an identicle note and he can read his. Assumably he tells Muugru of what is contained in the note.
Muugru is annoyed that he was injured so significantly... and by a stupid wolf! He grabs the tankard of ale and drinks it quickly. Just as it puts it down, the other arrives. He slams it down even quicker. Ale always did help Muugru deal with the day's events. Just as he was about to request another, his attention is redirected by Fanny.
Muugru goes through the motions of getting undressed and into the tub, assuming that Fanny will be joining him. He lets her scrub him, knowing that human women often do weird things like this before they have sex. When Fanny leaves the room, Muugru realizes something is up. She tricked Muugru! Muugru shouts out her name with a few explentives. Fanny probably returns to the doorway and shoots him an icey glare. Muugru can't figure out what the heck just happened, but he knows that he's not releasing his bestial urges this evening. He grumbles several orc curse words to himself as he gets dressed and heads back downstairs.
He walks over to Heshlem and advises, "DO NOT take the bath! It's a trick!". Muugru sits down, looking fairly annoyed until another tankard of ale is placed in front of him. By the time he sees the bottom of it, he already has forgotten why he was annoyed.

Heshlem thanks the farmer for the payment. He also informs Muurgu that meat is safer and better tasting when cooked, and he will get someone to cook meat one day so he can try it.
He asks does he want to sell the pups for more ale money or food. There is not much of a point to keeping them as they can not fight, but maybe someone can use them as "guard dogs" in the future.Tobacco Incident:
Heshlem watches with curiosity as the big orc puts the tobacco on the meat, and yep he does it. He tries to eat it.
"That was not a spice for eating. It was tobacco for smoking." Curious as to how he is at such a loss for common knowledge Heshlem ask, "How long have you been around cities and towns or is this a new experience for you?"
After finding out that the potion is cure potion. I hand one to Muurgu and tell him it will make his wounds better. This can be done after he drinks in order to keep continuity.
Bath Incident:
Speaking to Muurgu-"The point of the bath was to change your smell to one that people like better. If people like your smell you may get more money, and women."
Speaking to Fanny after seeing the scowl on her face.-"It seems he grew up in a tribe so his education and social grace have suffered greatly for it. For whatever reason he is visiting us civilized folk. I will do what I can to bring him around. One more thing, who is this Pandin?"
Diplomacy roll to make her calm down:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Diplomacy roll to find out about Pandin:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Speaking to Muurgu---"I think we should dress differently for the ball."
He then leads, or at least tries to get Muurgu to a tailor if there is time. If there is no time to get anything made then ignore anything after the diplomacy roll
PS:I am assuming there was a total of 2 cure potions which is why I gave one to Muurgu.
Zanfoodle Stumbleduck
Zan listens to the authoritative voice of Fanny issue the suggestion that everyone bathe, and finally stops eating. Setting his fork down, he suspiciously sniffs himself to see if this suggestion applies to him.
He had not noticed before that his clothes are dusty and he perhaps was possessed of a slight odor.
He quietly enacts one of his innate Gnomish abilities, Prestidigitation, and proceeds to use it to clean himself and his clothes.
That done, Zan quirks an eyebrow at anyone staring at his now-clean attire. "What? You've never seen someone bathe by magic before? Anyone else want the same? Would save you the trouble of getting wet! Ha!
If anyone takes him up on it, he will indeed clean them and their belongings as best as Prestidigitation can.
'Grey'
Grey both chuckles and sighs at the Gnomes 'enthusiasm' for displays of Mage craft.
"The arcane arts can only go so far." He slightly admonishes the Gnome, "The world and Nature...they are larger still." With that Grey nods and accepts the facilities for bathing, making sure they are ensconced in privacy as well ass using the time to have their robes and clothes both cleaned as well as mended.
Prepare as best one can for the coming festivities. *Bows*
Muugru
"That was not a spice for eating. It was tobacco for smoking." Curious as to how he is at such a loss for common knowledge Heshlem ask, "How long have you been around cities and towns or is this a new experience for you?"
"Me spend not much time in towns. Since me leave the clan few months ago, me work as mercenary. Spend most times traveling on roads. Me have hard time finding rooms in inns, and me get kicked out of many taverns and even some towns. Me not really like towns!"
"Baths get me women? Hrmm, me take more baths then! What wrong with me smell? Me always smell dis way!", Muugru eyes Heshlem suspiciously while trying to figure out why he would both help him and insult him. Muugru scratches his head in contemplation, but all this talking makes it hard to concentrate and is taking away ale drinking time.
Aftering being told that a 'ball' is a like a festival Muugru seems interested... not so much in the music and dancing description but more in the mention of food and ale.
Muugru is smart though, and he notices that people don't seem to stare at Heshlem as much as they do at Muugru. Heshlem seems very comfortable in town. Muugru would like to be like that at some point. Confident that Heshlem could be a good mentor, Muugru agrees to getting some clothes that are more fitting to a town setting.
Upon mention of the wolf pups, "Yes, you sell the wolves and give me some of the coins."
The little folk with the squeeky voice is an oddity to Muugru. He speaks of being clean and then casts magic to appear cleaner. Muugru leans over to Heshlem and whispers in a not-so-hushed tone, "Stupid one, him should have take bath, now he not get woman. Har Har!"
Heshlem
I did not realize the entire party was here. I guess I should stop speed reading.
Heshlem takes Muugru out with him to get fitted for clothes. He slips the tailor 10 gp and suggest there might be more if Heshlem and Muugru's clothes are done in time.

He also tries to find info on who would be willing to take the wolves.

The tailor upon seeing the 10gp and the implication that more would come if their clothes were finished in time calls in all of his aprentices and they quickly get to work on the clothes. He tells you that between the 6 of them your clothes should be done just before the call is to start.
As for the wolf pups he mentions that perhaps your halfling companion may be interested in one, but other than that he suggests that you could probably sell them to some of the farmers that live a little further out of town to be guard dogs for them.| Heshlem |
Heshlem offers to sell the pups to the halfing before visiting the farmers. Later he goes to pick up the outfits and hands the tailor another 5 gp assuming they are completed. Before the ball he tries to instruct Muugru on some of the finer points of proper behavior at the upcoming event.
At some point before the ball begins Heshlem looks at the other party members and speaks:
"It seems we have been noticed by someone named Pandin. It also seems that we are all highly skilled. I think it is safe to assume we might be working together soon, assuming we agree with this Pandin person. May I ask each of you what your names are and your specialties?
I am a paladin of Cayden Cailen, but I am not held to as many strict principles as most other paladins. I need some leeway to properly do my bidding. In return for this leeway I have given up a little power, but I am all the better for it."
'Grey'
Grey bows politely after Heshlem's introduction.
"It is always good to meet a fellow follower of faith, even those of different paths." He says, offering a gloved hand.
"My faith is with the power of Razmir and I am known as 'Grey'. I am but a simple acolyte, though I hope my travels through the world shall teach me more, both of it and the mysteries of my faith as my deity's teachings unfold through out my journeys."
Muugru
Muugru tries on his clothes and seems utterly disgusted. He complains frequently about how uncomfortable it feels to be full clothed. He points out how itchy the clothes are and how he feels hot. Determined to try to give this whole "civilized life thing" a try though, he keeps the clothes on. He asks Heshlem, "how many coins me pay you?"
Muugru attentively listens to Heshlem as he explains what to do at the ball. Heshlem uses such big and fancy words though. Muugru tries his best to comprehend what Heshlem is instructing, but so little is actually retained in Muugru's small brain. Muugru decides, it will just be easier to do whatever Heshlem does... unless it involves dancing or talking to people.
When introductions roll around, Muugru states, "Me Mugruu. Me work for mayor now with Heshlem."
Kyras Acaman
Reaching his hand towards Grey and Heshlem as they introduce themselves, he says, "I am Kyras, Kyras Acaman. I am a local hunter with my fa..." Falling silent for a moment he looks down as if trying to gather himself. "I was a local hunter in the area, but I will be leaving after this festival is over. I don't know this Pandin fellow but I'm curious about his sudden interest. I for one intend find and talk to him."
Looking down at the wolf pups, "Where did you come across a pair barely weened pups like those two? They are looking hungry. Be right back." With that Kyras heads to the kitchen to see if he can get a small platter of raw meat.
If possible he returns and trys to get them to eat from his hand. Tossing them the meat closer and closer till the do.

Heshlem smiles at the offer, thinking that the man has honor even though he is somewhat rough around the edges-"Muugru you don't have to repay me. Just be ready to support me in combat when the time comes."
He then directs his words towards Kyras-"Their parents were causing the a villager a good deal of trouble, killing livestock. One of them took a good chunk out of Muugru here before we put them down. I saw no reason to kill the pups though."
Muugru
Muugru looks confused at Heshlem's response, then eyes him suspiciously. Muugru ponders to himself about why a half-orc would give him something free... "He obviously has a devious plan in mind. He wants me to keep him safe. Maybe he plans to attack a caravan and needs me to help him. Good money in attacking caravans. Why is there a dog barking around me. Oh look its chasing a squirrel. Never eaten squirrel meat before. Not really much to eat though. Me could use more food soon." Muugru's attention continues to wane.

"Well, since we all seem to be persons of interest around here, allow me to introduce myself. I am known as Zanfoodle Stumbleduck, student of arcane and alchemical mysteries. I've got no clue what this Pandin wants, but he seems to have chosen a er... uniquely skilled bunch." Raising an eyebrow at Muugru's obviously freshly tailored duds

Grey nods at Zanfoodle's words.
"Though, in truth, every person is unique' to the world." He says philosophically, then with a glance to Muugru, "Some, however, reach their own level of 'Uniqueness..." And there is a hint of amusement in the robed man's voice.

Once Muugru has eaten most of everything on the buffet table Heshlem manages to get his attention back to the party and the two of them walk back over to the other 4 members. A few awkward moments of silence pass and then an middle aged man walks over to the party, well limps is a more correct statement. He motions for the 6 of you to follow him and leads you to a small alley behind the Fancy Farmer and out of earshot of everyone at the ball.

"Listen you lot seem like you can handle yourselves well and about as trustworthy a lot as can be found around these parts. I don't need to tell you, but something is amiss in the world...and well I don't know who else to turn to."
Just then you hear a blood curling scream and panic ensues.
"Damn. Knew it would strike here too eventually, but that means we have less time than I had envisioned." He thrusts a letter into your chest along with a small wooden chest. "Take these and follow the directions to the letter...the world hangs in jeopardy." He pulls a short sword out of a well hidden scabbard grabs a few vials of something from his vest. "Now go! I have 4 horses and 2 ponies saddled for you now make haste!"
He hurriedly limps away to the mob that seems to be forming searching for this group of outsiders as surely they are the ones behind all the trouble.
Kor - Orc Scrollkeeper
Ball:
Since everyone seemed to be engrossed in the activities this indeed gave Muugru time to pillage the buffet tables. After ripping a drumstick off some type of fowl, gulping it down and licking the bone clean, he prepared for another raid when something caught his eye.
A rather average looking woman standing by the buffet table with ample cleavage showing. Muugru shoots her a quick glance and decides her medium build would be able to handle an 'intimate' encounter with him.
Unaware that she is a serving wench (not that it would matter) he approaches her and says, "Me like you. Me took bath today", and then motioning towards Heshlem, "Him say you bed with me now."
Muugru pointing towards him happened to catch Heshlem's eye. Knowing that no good could come from Muugru speaking to any woman at the ball, he started to head over. When he saw Muugru reach for his coin pouch and randomly pull out some gold coins, Heshlem hastened his stride. Quickly, Heshlem pulled Muugru back to the group, but not before the woman let out a quick shreik and managed to deliver an open-handed strike accross Muugru's face.
Meeting:
Having heard Pandin's speach, Muugru stands in silence and confusion. "So let me get this right. Him want us to do what is on the paper?" Muugru looks at the wooden chest, "how much him pay?"
Zanfoodle Stumbleduck
"The world is in jeopardy?! Boy, you humans do have quite a flair for the dramatic! But hey, at least we won't be walking!"
Zan quickly polishes off the mug in his hand and begins tightening the straps on his various packs and pouches.
Drawing a small dagger from somewhere in his sleeve he repeats with a sardonic smile on his face, "You heard the man! JEOPARDY! Let's move!" as he turns toward the door.
"Wait, does this place have a back door? Lets use that if possible."
Muugru
Muugru watches the gnome as he suddenly becomes excited. Calmly, and unfazed about his non-sensical ramblings, Muugru looks at Heshlem, then at the gnome hastily leaving, then at Grey and then at the chest Grey is holding. "How much him paying us?" Muugru asks Grey.
In a somewhat whispered tone, Muugru leans over to Heshlem and asks, "what mean jeper... jepurty?"
