Quick question: Can you use the Elemental Fist feat from the APG
Elemental Fist.
Stunning Fist says unarmed strike, but while elemental elemental Fist requires Improved Unarmed Strike, the text does not specify that you can use it while using a weapon.
So, what do you think?

in the case of the monk they can mix weapons, unarmed attacks and special attacks as part of their flurries.
As for your greataxe example being a 2h weapon your hand is not free to make the strike, if you were using a 1h axe your hand would be free, however this would be treated as two weapon fighting so you'd take penalties without appropriate feats plus elemental fist can only be used once per round so if you had multiple offhand unarmed attacks only one could be an elemental fist.

Yar.
RAW you can use elemental fist through a great axe (or any weapon), because the crunch text does not say it HAS to be an unarmed strike. It only says "On a successful hit, the attack deals damage normally plus 1d6 points of damage of the chosen type."
This may not be RAI, but is it RAW.
Also, your link does not go to where it should.
These links do work: PRD & SRD

good pickup actually, your right it doesn't state it has to be an unarmed attack.
although having thought about it, 2 feats (you have to take imp unarmed which most people don't need) that give you a bonus 1d6 on one attack up to 5 time a day at 20th is not really unreasonable anyway in fact its a bit on the weak side esp since a failed attack still burns a use. and its only elemental damage.
