Gah! What I wish for summoner

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I really wish there was a way to create "Eidolon slots" for the synthisist summoner.

Basically I'm a fan of the Persona games, and well the synthisist summoner is like perfect for that, cept that you can only summon one eidolon.

If there was a PrC or something that really would break this mode, and give me the ability to create these slots, which would be set versions of my Eidolon. I still summon the same one and it comes back with approx the same hp (same % of hp each time) but I'm able to pick out of my 6 slots.

Not really a totally serious suggestion.. just something I really wish that totally would have been fun..

I love that idea. I for one had a similar idea in mind, except with Final Fantasy X's summon system; going around the world and getting the different summons - they'd be governed by the DM, rather than the player, though, except for the starting eidolon which would be the summoner's own.

Would make for a good plot, if done well.

<3 Shin Megami Tensei. <3 Persona. Akihiko and Kanji and Naoto :D

(hurr I need sleep)

I am not sure where but somebody created an archtype for the summoner that gave you 6 summons over the course of 20 levels, but only one at a time and they shared they same HP pool, I think...

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16, 2012 Top 32

New 4-Point Evolution
Transformer (Su): An eidolon with this evolution spends its evolution pool twice, creating one independent set of evolutions per expenditure. Each set must include the transformer evolution, but may otherwise include entirely different evolutions. Each time you summon the eidolon, choose one set of evolutions. The eidolon gains only the evolutions in the chosen set, losing all others. An eidolon may take this evolution more than once, allowing it to spend its evolution pool one additional time per transformer evolution taken after the first. Each set of evolutions the eidolon possesses takes must include the transformer evolution the same number of times as every other set.

Dark Archive

love the transformer idea
if i ever play a summoner outside of society play, i will ask the dm to allow this or an archetype/prestige
the summoner is still young, perhaps we will see chances to do this by the book in uture releases

Sorry I don't have the link right now, but it was called polysummon. The summoner gives up their summon monster SLA. In return they start with 2 eidolons and gain a new one every 5 levels. They share the same hit point pool based on the one with the lowest CON score.

Would make an interesting character. More like a fusionist than a summoner.

Check the Master Summoner archetype in Ultimate Magic. It should give you what you need.

Master summoner goes the opposite route. Its all about summoning chiwawas, in otherwords your Summon monster ability increases but your eidolon decreases.

Haha chihuahuas XD , that would be a funny monster for summon monster I.

Actually that is exactly pretty much what you are summoning.

A riding dog is most of the dogs that would be a great combat dog. Saint Benards, Mastiffs, wolfhounds etc. and a Dog is smaller than a riding dog.

The darn thing only has 6 hp.

Yeah... Too bad that it has never been officially errata'd to be a dog and not a riding dog...

The Evolutionist Archetype offers a VERY limited version of this. For 200gp and 24 hours you can switch up your Eidolon's evolutions in between levels. Closest I can get.

Actually its not 200gp... Its 200gp Per summoner level. Since it requires at least level 6.. Thats 1200gp per switch.

And then it doesn't actually finish off the second part, which is summoning the "persona" on you.

I think what we would need to create for this is a Sub-archetype that combines a bit of the evolutionist and synthesis together.

I'd say you gain the ability to cast "Summon Eidolon" 4+cha mod per day, but lose the ability to summon monster as a spell like ability. Perhaps even add in 1/2 character level to the amount of times you can summon. Might even want to throw in some other things so that your eidolon summoned this way isn't effected by the normal effects of summon eidolon (can touch protection from evil, and cannot be dispelled.)

You also lose the ability to summon the eidolon normally.

Every time you gain the ability to summon a new level of monster, you instead gain another form your eidolon can take. You choose its base form and evolutions.

My nephew watches a show called Ben 10... isnt that the same principle? A kid that can turn into 10 different aliens.

Possibly.

In persona 3 at least, the normal synthesist works well for the normal people. They are only able to summon one other persona, If I recall. But the main character gets to break this rule and can summon other persona.

I don't really remember persona 2 that much..But If I remember correctly, each person could summon different persona.

MTS-Imagine you could summon multiple creatures, and works well with the normal summoner or the brood master. (especially if you can stack broodmaster and evolutionist together.)

Persona Trinity Soul - Normal synthisist again works well here. They would "summon" their persona, and would allow them to do some crazy things. Normal people couldn't see the persona, so It would look like a guy was flying around smashing things with his bare hands. (If I recall correctly.. Might be mixing it up with something else.)
