Can you be a Bladebound Hexcrafter? (Magus)

Rules Questions

The title says it all, with the APG monks people were making all sorts of dual or triple archetype minks, Just wondering if this can be done here?

A bladebound hex crafter seems very Elric to me.

Quest, If you had a paladin/ blade bound magus
would the black blade get jealous of the holy weapon? Could it also BE the holy weapon? Could you have a two bladed sword one side be the black blade the other side the holy sword?

Heh RAW I think you can only take a single archtype period.

However in cases where the archtypes are exchanging different parts of the class , e.g. black blade drops familiar and less arcane pool, hexcrafter drops spell recall, but neither is droping the same thing , there's argument that it should be possible and balanced.

Either way your GM could allow it even if the RAW says no, personally I don't see any glaring issues with it apart from whatever crazy combo you may have come up with hehehe ;)

btw paly/magus .. which is your primary stat
... ummm ALL OF THEM ! hehehe thats MAD MAD MAD
flavour wise I think the player and GM could have alot of fun with the personality of the black blade and hexes esp as a plot device on occasion.

The standing rule on archetypes is that you may combine as many other archetypes as you wish as long as no two archetypes replace the same class feature. Since bladebound only replaces your 3rd level arcana, and hexcrafter only replaces spell recall, both archetypes are compatible. In fact, no two magus archetypes replace the same ability so you could conceivably have a bladebound hexcrafter spellblade staff magus if you wanted. (Though staff magus doesn't play nice with spellblade or bladebound.)

As for the black blade/holy blade questions...the first one depends entirely on the personality of the black blade. If it's the type to get jealous of a celestial spirit bound to another sword, then yes, it would. As for the black blade being the sword in question, I'd say that's possible, just remember that the +10 enhancement cap is absolute. Finally, no, you couldn't make the black blade one end of a two-bladed sword per RAW. A black blade can only be a one-handed slashing weapon, a rapier, or a sword cane, while a two-bladed sword is a double weapon and thus two-handed. It would, however, be an interesting concept I'd discuss with your GM.

Hopefully this helps!

If you could provide a pg ref to the multi archetype rule I'd appreciate it, will need to throw it at my GM :)

Let me see if I can find it.

EDIT: Found!

A character can take more than one archetype and garner additional alternate class features, but none of the class features can replace or alter the same core class feature as another alternate class feature. For example, a paladin could not be both a hospitaler and an undead scourge since they both modify the smite evil class feature and both replace the aura of justice class feature. A paladin could, however, be both an undead scourge and a warrior of the holy light, since none of their new class features replace the same core class feature.

Bravo Sir!

This leads me to a follow-up question.

Can you be a Qinggong Monk of the Four Winds?

If someone in my game wanted to I'd let them but inform them that the Monk of the Four Winds powers could not be switched with Qinggong Monk powers.

The Exchange

I believe so as you pick and choose which monk abilities you trade out for the Qinggong Monk archetype.

you have it right you can be both, since the swapping for qigong is options you would choose not to swap stuff monk of the four winds needs. and since you no longer have the specific powers you would not be able to swap them out.

but any powers remaining on the qigong list can still be swapped.
