Donning Armor

Rules Questions

Hi everyone,

When you are donning a armor you can do it hastily or normal.
As you all know you get some disadvantage for doing it hastily.

Can you don a armor hastily just to have it on, and then continue to work on it as long as your not attacked to get it done right?

Dark Archive

I'd say yes, but it's quite obviously an activity that allows AoOs.

The most important thing about Don Hastily is that it makes an awesome character name.

I would say not, myself. I would say that in order to don it normally, you would have to take it off first.

There is a reason behind this.

According to the section about donning armor, some armor can *only* be donned hastily by yourself. Half-plate or full-plate. They require someone to help you don your armor in order to prevent the penalties. By allowing a transition from don hastily to just don, you're effectively removing that specific penalty entirely.

+1

I wonder what other awesome names are buried in the rules...

And anyway, check with your GM. I agree with Magicdealer, though if it were my own game, I'd allow the re-adjusting with armor that doesn't need help for donning.

There's always the armored coat. Don as a move action.
