God knows I love the pathfinder PDF files from my subscriptions...but some of the older files are not ipad friendly at all. the artwork looks wonky, the maps don't show up at all (or show up looking hella funky) and some of the text is missing/dropped letters. they're barely legible.
so...anyone know how I can address the issue? I like having my pathfinder books as reference material on the iPad so that I know I can tag and jump to them with just a few touches. it's nice to have a reference sheet like that nearby and NOT have to lug all the dead tree products in my bookshelves along all the time to every game.

You may want to try another PDF reader for the Ipad. I have an Ipad2 and use Ibooks and Goodreader for my AP PDFs and no issues.
once this stupid 'invalid address' bug gets fixed, i'll go see about finding a copy of Goodreader.
as I said, I like being able to store my stuff on the iPad (i've a first generation iPad myself) and use it during game sessions. it's a nifty little toy indeed.

What app on the iPad is good to manage characters?
Right now, RPG sheets is the only option I can find. It it pretty good if you don't double checking the math.
Hero lab is currently finishing their Mac version of the program, and iPad compatibility should be too far beyond that.
There is another program being worked on, I can't remember the name but they have posted here in another thread about iPad apps.

If HeroLab had a companion app that would be perfect since I can share characters with my laptop compatriots.
I've heard them say they are working toward an iPad version of Hero Lab. I think they have some obstacles to overcome first, but it would be pretty cool.

I had the same problem when the iPad first came out, but a OS upgrade months ago fixed those problems.
what iOS version do you have on the iPad?

Yeah—the latest OS had an update to the PDF rendering engine that fixed the missing character problems. Mangled images are a different issue, though, and I'm not really sure if it was fixed or not (it was pretty rare).

In classic/retro fashion I've been playing with NoteTaker HD to write out some test characters. I've gone from digital (mostly spreadsheet based characters), back to digitized analog... slightly ironic.
I'd like to get a Dicenomicon Pathfinder XML sheet worked out, but I don't have the concentrated time or brain space to fiddle the coding style to build a decent and visually appealing sheet. I'll probably fall back on Numbers as I did Excel in the past. I do like how Numbers can arrange multiple tables in one sheet. I'm also starting to play around with the form function for some kinds of input.
The invalid address may be due to a slight difference between your address as know by iTunes and your credit card, if you use one. Also in the US you may need to use the extra 4 digit postal code in addition to your zip code.
