I have read through both the Druid rules & Beast Shape but I am unsure how Wild Shape works. Let's say that my 8th level Druid wild shapes into an Allosaurus.
ALLOSAURUS CR 7
XP 3,200
N Huge animal
Init +5; Senses low-light vision, scent; Perception +28
DEFENSE
AC 19, touch 9, flat-footed 18 (+1 Dex, +10 natural, –2 size)
hp 93 (11d8+44)
Fort +11, Ref +8, Will +7
OFFENSE
Speed 50 ft.
Melee bite +14 (2d6+8/19–20 plus grab), 2 claws (1d8+8)
Space 15 ft.; Reach 15 ft.
Special Attacks pounce, rake (2 talons +14, 1d8+8)
STATISTICS
Str 26, Dex 13, Con 19, Int 2, Wis 15, Cha 10
Base Atk +8; CMB +18; CMD 29
Feats Alertness, Improved Critical (bite), Improved Initiative, Iron Will, Nimble Moves, Run
Skills Perception +28; Racial Modifiers +8 Perception
I think that I would (using the rules from Beast Shape III) make the following changes to MY stat block. +6 STR, -4 DEX, +6 Nat Armor. Do I then use these stats for my attacks? Do I still get 3 attacks plus the rake? Do I get the improved crit for the bite?
In general how do I play the animal that I have turned into?
I did look in the archives but all of the general discussions that I saw were from 2008-2009 when they were discussing 3.5 rules. Thanks for any help that you can give.

If you Beast Shape III into an allosaurus, you will gain:
+6 Str, -4 Dex, +6 natural armor to AC
You will also be Huge, with a reach and space of 15 ft., and therefore gain a -2 size penalty to AC and attacks.
You also gain a land speed of 50 ft, low-light vision, scent, pounce, and rake (2 talons 1d8).
You gain natural weapons: bite 2d6 plus grab, 2 claws 1d8.
Your attacks use your own BAB and Str mod (with the +6 bonus), and your (improved) Str mod for damage.

What about the animal's feats. In this case improved crit (bite), improved init, etc.?

You don't get any of those. You also don't get additional skills, nor do your HD or HP change.
However, if you possess those feats yourself, you may use them while polymorphed.

Sorry for dragging this out, do I get the racial modifiers, in the case of the allosaurus +8 perception? What about the +4 grapple for the grab special ability?

How do items you are wearing react? I thought that I saw that armor is absorbed, what about things like rings, amulets? A better question might be what still works when you are wild shaped?

to make this simpler, you only can get is granted by the spell, IF the form grants it as well. If it's not on the spell's shopping list, then you don't get it no matter what form you take.

Items that provides a constant bonus still works.
While it has been subject to detailed discussion what works or not, the simple answer to your question is that anything, that grants a fixed bonus (such as ring of protection, cloak of resistance, and your amulet of mighty fists), while any item that needs to be activated in any way cannot be used.

You do not gain a racial skill bonus (like the perception bonus) from a creature but Grab is on the list for Beast Shape II (and higher) so you would get that bonus since it's granted by the Grab ability and not a racial skill bonus.
