Combat Style for a Ranger in a Horror Campaign

Advice

Inspired by Carrion Crown I made and posted to the database a martial version of the whip. Now, if a ranger is going to make this his signature weapon, what combat style works best for him?

I'm curious. How did you design the whip to be a martial version?

For one thing I made it a lethal weapon. Here's a link to its page on the databases: http://pathfinderdb.com/character-options/weapons-a-armor/1279-razor-whip

how does making a whip more powerful make it less exotic?

Personally if it was me a lethal whip would still require exotic weapon proficiency.

At the same time I'm having the same problem, and the short answer is that unless you build that style yourself there are none that work well. Me personally I circumvented this by having a high Dex specializing in throwing weapons then taking the Archery style.

Of course for the high Dex I had to sacrifice and I sacrificed int meaning no improved trip/disarm.

And I tend not to attempt to disarm I trip from 15 ft away meaning no AoO unless I'm adjacent to a different enemy.

Unless you want to throw the whip a lot I would suggest TWF.

There already is a lethal whip in PF the scorpion whip.

Whip, Scorpion

This whip has a series of razorsharp blades and fangs inset along its tip.

Description: A scorpion whip deals lethal damage, even to creatures with armor bonuses. If you are proficient with whips, you can use a scorpion whip.

Weapon Feature(s): disarm, reach

Its STILL an exotic. TBH Castlevania nostalgia aside Whip is not what you need for undead-type horror, nor for things from beyond horror.
