Planning on Making a Java "Character Sheet Generator" for PBP Gaming

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I have been teaching myself Java recently, and I want to create a java application that basically creates the BBC Code for a character sheet for Pathfinder. Its a bit of an undertaking, but as I just need to code it (the rules already exist) it would not be THAT difficult. Especially if I did it in a step by step system a la the character creation steps that are presented.

What I am curious is this: What would you all consider a good solid "Character Sheet" to look like, for Play By Posting? And yes, this is something I am doing that will be specific to PBP Gaming.

Slow down there....

jus yesterdey I wuz awelcomin yah tah tha boards an here yah are trying tah stir up trouble.....

Well Im not avin it not from yah....

;)

Go for it! There are already a few character sheets on the boards in various programs. I am not sure what all of them are.....

Too much free time?

While I now use Hero Lab almost exclusively, I will tell you what I looked for in a "Good solid character sheet"...

When playing in a PBP game, I like a simple generic sheet. The "official" format (i.e. like the one in the Core Rulebook) serves this purpose well, so I look for a sheet that mimics this format (which is one of the reasons I use Hero Lab for my PF and 3.5 games)...

If the game is F-T-F then I like a more involved sheet like the "Deluxe" 4 page sheets Wizards put out for 3.5, and if my character survives for a few levels, I may use one of those multi-page folios like Green Ronin and a few other 3PP put out for 3.5 and PF...

But Hero Lab has since fulfilled all of my needs for character sheets...
